I could kick myself for using a regular strength relaxer all these years. 2 weeks ago I got a touch up and switched to Affirm mild which was applied to my hair like a texturizer instead of it being smoothed through. The results were so good! I can feel the wave in my roots, but the curl is loose enough to still roller set. I am so happy. I have a lot of hair, but my hair is fine and I think I have been overprocessing it. I felt these last several months that my hair was getting limper. Well, I think this is the solution. I will ever use anything but mild on my hair again! Now I just have to let the more processed part of my hair grow out. Hopefully I will have pictures up by the end of the year. I would like to share my photos eventually.

even though i have extremely thick hair i plan to swith to a more gentle relaxer also. i was using affirm regualar also and i plan to switch to phytospecific index 1. did your hair seem fuller when u used the mild relaxer?

Yes, my hair seemed fuller and stronger at the roots. I had a lot of new growth too. I also find it it is easier for me to get the "wash and go" look. When I air dry my hair, the front has a bit more wave and curl. Before it would be so limp in the front (the back always curled). So I am happy I made the switch. I am sorry I did not do it all along. I think you will be pleased.
