My opinion/advice: Don't get one to thight. Keep it around your same length or little longer. If I get a long weave about 4 or 5 weeks later I cut it short into a new style. To get a thinner/bulky look have stylist or yourself cut weft in half before applying. I don't perfer glue in weaves. Glue loosens up quick after a few washs. I like leaving my bangs out to get a more realistic look. Wear it at least for 6 weeks (expescially if you get an expensive sew-in)
OT: That is all I can think of right now at 1:30 a.m. whey Lord!!! Can't sleep b/c I got the flu.
I'm wearing a weave right now. Moni made a good point about not getting the base (braids) done too tight. It will be uncomfortable and may cause breakage. This is what I normally do...
PRE -WEAVE
-Heavy protein treatment 1 wk before the install
-deep condition hair before braiding
W/ WEAVE IN
-wash braids underneath once every 1-2 weeks
-moisturize every other day
-avoid tugging @ the weave while brushing/combing.
-If you use a growth treatment (Surge, BT, MN, etc). apply to scalp (optional)
POST WEAVE
-wash and deep condition your natural hair
-wait 1-2 weeks before any severe chemical treatments (i.e. color, relaxing etc).
-extra care and patience should be used to remove the weave and unravel the braids.
Wow qtslim83! You do exactly what I do before, during and after a weave. This is gonna sound weird but we are weave regimen twins LOL!! Great post btw!!
OT: You look just like my baby sister. I swear you could be her twin. If I posted a pic of her it would freak you out. My mom had two sets of twins. We could be family....LOL!!! Thanks for the hugs....Ny-Quill and Thera-flu are finally kicking in.
