I thought it would be fun to find out who will be chopping in 2005? Also, how long have you been transitioning? -- jainygirl

Hey there, I plan on doing the Big Chop May 2005. I have been transitiong for one year now. I can't wait! Good post!

Me!! I'm gonna BC in the spring. I'm sick of transitioning but I wanted to have my hair in ringlets for my wedding. But after that, the ends are coming off!

Count me in! I plan on chopping next year. Depending on how I feel, it'll either be my year anniversary of transitioning or it will be 1 1/2 years into the transition. Right now, I'm thinking a year will be plenty long enough. I had my last relaxer touch-up in March of 2004.

Me!! I plan on BC in the spring....when it starts getting a bit warmer. I've had enough of the transitioning business, I just want to keep it till my wedding so I can have lots of ringlets.

Good luck to all of you! I'm shocked too Carlie! I had no idea Boadicea was transitioning. :)

Wow...off topic. Alliyah...I just read your siggy and you bc'ed already?!??...congrats to you! I have to start logging back in here often like I was before...dang let me read some of the older posts...what else have I missed...

I am, yes. I've made an effort to transition before but my heart fully wasn't in it. I've always imagined that I'd go back to natural when I got married, so that's probably why I went back to relaxing for the time being. Just wasn't ready yet. My last relaxer was 10/06?/04.

Anyway, my only concern is that I don't know how to detangle curly hair and I'm worried that I might rip my hair out. I know some naturals use Denman brushes, but I don't know which one or how to use it.

ME! I am DONE with relaxers....I will be so happy when I am chemical free

I've been watching the reruns of starting over on tv one and looking at Rana's (the life coach) hair just wants me to be natural more and more

I am! Sometime after my wedding. So in 6+ months.
I am also waiting to do the BC after my wedding, next fall. However, I've been transitionning for six months and I'm already ready to do a BC. I don't have the patience to play around with the relaxed ends... I've been looking for alternative wedding hair styles, once I find one, I'll BC the next day.

Congrats Boadicea and Chanou on your upcoming nuptials :dance7:...and also to everyone who will be doing the BC this coming year :).

I've been transitioning since October 7, 2004... not too far along yet. I plan on doing a big chop in October of 2006, but if get a far amount of growth and length with my natural hair next year, I might just cut off my relaxed ends in late 2005! ;)

Not sure if I will be doing the BC. But with all of the breakage that I have been having for the last 6 months, it is starting to look like I might be forced to go that route as well. I am currently trying to nurse my hair back to health. But if that fails....oh well, I will be chopping and starting all over.

Moi! I'm trying to last until November, but I think I might be BCing before then.

ETA: Oops, I've been transitioning since May. 7th of this year.
