Ladies, i would like to know who has been your hair helper outside of LHCF, of course? For me, it has been my wondeful cousin. I am sooo retarded when it comes to alot of things. She doesnt help me literally with my hair but everything else hair related. She has taken numerous progress pics, created comparison pics. Her last comparisons were wack! She's gonna have to show me how to do them, again! She accompanied me at the BSS, introduced me to photobucket and showed me how to use it(upload pics), and much more. I know alot of times i get on her last nerves, but i love and appreciated her. I could literally call her a hundred times if i couldnt figure something. The other day i joking told her i know i get on her nerves and she her response was a uncontrollable laugh:lachen:! When i walk through the door i know she wonders ," what is this dumb arse going to have me do today?":lachen:Sorry for ramling, so who is your hair helper? I know you have *trained* someone to help you out w/ trims, relaxers, etc.. Vera, i love you and appreciate everything you have done and will do for me! P.S. We still have to do my hair measurements and more progress pictures..i'll be over monday! K?

For the most part, I do everything to and for my hair myself. I wish I did have someone to help me at times :ohwell: My SO does, however take my hair pics every now and then.

Well I don't have a hair helper but I got my neighbor and 2 other friends involved. So I guess I'm their hair helper. My neighbor comes over for con washes, DC, braid outs, and roller sets. It's motivating to have someone close who wants healthy long hair too.

my daughter used to be mine.....

when i was laxin, she'd spot me and viceversa. things slowed down when i started transitioning and fizzled into a stop when i bc'd.

hmmmmm..........i wonder why? it's not like i'm trying to convert her to the nappy side or anything not be supportive of her, ya know?

hmph - the way she stays away........brings tears to my eyes..... you'd think i was doing some jesse jackson, sunday morning preaching or something...........MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA :lachen:

i don't....i swear i don't. well, i try hard not to :lachen::lachen:

My niece....God knows I love her. She trims my hair so well. I BC'd by myself and I made a mess that she is now trying to correct.

That's wonderful. I'm thinking about recruiting more, my lil sis in paticular. I'm not a self relaxer and i was thinking about practice w/ conditioner of course touch ups with her. But, i dunno cause the thought alone makes me nerve!

Well my twin sister is my biggest helper!! Love her! :yep: She always helps me with my hair when I ask her, with like relaxers, rollersets, re-washing out protein that she thinks is dangerous lol. She take pics and she listens to me talk and lecture her to death about hair. Not only that, she's great emotional support and always tells me that my hair is nice or whatever even when i feel its not. She's also my hype man and #1 fan, i'm hers too, a trip...lol

Awwww, that's terrific! I love that about my cousin, too. Even though she doesn't want to jump on the haircare wagon, she still is 100% supportive of me. She's always complimenting me on my hair and reassuring me that it growing. But i only hope that one day she will join me so we can have an even closer bond.

OMG same here!!! My sis won't join either, even after i told her i would pay the $5. She thinks i'm obsessed with it, she jokingly asks me "are you on that freaky hair website?" :lachen: I also am trying to get her out of her "unhealthy" hair practices and she listens, but i just wish she'd come up here and find out on her on you know?? The forums are great!!

Oh Wow! Let me not even forget to mention how helpful my DD is. She takes a lot of pics for me, measures my hair, and sits beside me and reads the boards with me. She also encourages me when she notices that my hair is growing. But most importantly, when my 'do is really tight, my precious angel reminds me that I ain't even cute!:lachen:

I'm stil somewhat new and I usually don't post but this topic is too cute! You all have got me missing my cousin over here :missing: Every Friday evening after work I would go to her house for our Friday night ritual. She would make sure that we were straight on the food, snacks & drinks:alcoholic and I would have us covered on hair, skin & nails. Since she has now moved to the ATL I have to do everything myself. Every now & then I can coax my mom into putting in my relaxer or applying Boundless Tresses but nobody beats my Cuz! Luv ya! (sniff)

Zerris, if you don't mind me asking where are you from?

Hi Wheezy. No, I don't mind. I moved from Alexandria, VA down to Charlotte, NC about 2.5 years ago. I haven't noticed a lot of people from Charlotte on here but I'm sure there a some, just not as many as you would find say in ATL, NY, VA, MD & DC. I think I may have found stylist who focuses on healthy hair. Two of my co-workers put me on to her. What about yourself, where are you from?

My husband is my helper...he holds the mirror for me while I relax the back of my hair & he cuts my ends (in the back) as well. He is awesome! I pay him for his services also...  :Blush2:

I'm from chicago, illinois. Hopefully more NC's will chime in.:wink2:

My boyfriend took my last progress pics and did a good job. Yesterday I asked him if he knew how to oil scalp and he said somewhat. Boy was I ecstatic!!!!:bouncegre:bud:Although he's in training he will be my new helper!!:kisses:

I don't have a helper. Just you guys and other sites online. I will do Google searches for things outside of LHCF for some tips.

A few months ago I bought a cosmetology school mannequin to practice braiding and rollersets on. Does she count? ::rolleyes:

Men are pretty much open to things, depending on how you lower them into!

Yea, cause we all gotta start somewhere right?

I love working on my mannequin, too. I think I will be able to do a rollerset on my own hair when I remove these braids. I have NEVER been able to do a rollerset until I practiced on her.

It made me see what rollerset can do, too.

When I got that thing in the mail, I cut 3 inches off because her hair was just bad and frizzy. I was pissed.

Now, I wish that I never cut it because after shampooing, conditioning, rollersetting and sitting her under the soft bonnet dryer (yep I did do that, too.) her hair was amazing! So bouncy and healthy looking. No frizz or kinks at all. I am excited to try it on my own hair.
