I'm pretty sure my hair has been scared stiff, literally, by all of the protein that it was subjected to after I took out my braids. Who has (that airdries) uses something that makes your hair extremely soft? I've got to get this hair whipped into shape!

I used to drench my hair with a leave in conditioner. I used aphogee for awhile and my hair dried soft.

Hey Dionne, which Aphogee did u use that made your hair soft? I picked up the 2 min reconstructor yesterday and I plan on using it today. TIA

I second that, when i use a S-Curl no drip activator, and then coat my hair with castor oil (pure) I couldn't BELIEVE how soft my hair was. Beware when u put in on your hair it's stiff (the castor oil) but when it is dry you will be pleasantly surprised.

DITTO! my hair is pretty soft when air-dried. the S-Curl (most glycerine based product) makes it even softer.

Here are a few things:

Castor oil as a leave-in with a tad of Infusium 23, UVProtectant Formula

Pure liquid aloe with/Aubrey's Ginseng and Ginkgo Moisturizing Jelly

Jojoba oil mixed with aloe

Neutrogena's Shine Detangler w/ a bit of aloe or alone

Straight liquid aloe

Thanks everyone for the responses. Yes, I too, usually have very soft hair, but since the protein diaster, it's not so soft right now. I'm using s-curl and castor oil with some EOs mixed in. I'll add a touch of wheatgerm and keep conditioning and hoping for the best. I'll tell you what though, I had to get rid of the UBH conditioner. I just can't figure it out and it messes me up every, single time....

I make my own flower water blends, mix a bit of conditioner in it(I like VO5....but in a pinch I will use my old favorite Suave) shake it up in a spray bottle and squirt it on while my hair is moderately wet.
Then if my ends feel kind of dry I will use pure aloe vera gel and the spray as well.....I usually just wear 2 pigtails, and then bun those up and when my hair comes down out of that style it is super soft!
I try not too use too much synthethic stuff, because my hair hates it
