Who has micros? I have a quick question...

When I had them, my braid lady would braid them down about 5 inches, tie a small knot so they wouldn't unravel, and then let the rest hang. Please do not let anyone glue them - that is horrible for the hair.

When my hair was in micros my the lady braided about an inch below my natural hair and then she knoted a few strands of hair at the base of the braid. The ends were then left loose. The knot was so small that you couldn't even see that their was a knot in my braids.

No I did not suffer any breakage.
I could not wash my hair or run water through for the first 4 weeks. My braider recommended this.
I only left them in for 2 months. Some of my braids started to matt like locks, but they combed right out during the removal process.

wen i had mine done they were jus done and left an inch after my hair was finished, mind u my hair aint that long so the plaited bits werent that long anyway
but i'd apply s curl to them everyday and then wash them once in two weeks... i took them out 6weeks later and experienced absolutly no breakge/knots at all

question: when people have braids, why do they sometimes get that gunky white glob where the braid knot is ...close to the scalp? Product build-up..infrequest washing....flaky scalp??

classycrimson that white gunky thing is a mixture of infrequent washing and product build up coz i used to have the worst knotting wen i used to apply creams to my scalp and since i realised that i dont really need to i had non of that. Now that moisture from s cul and water if all the moisture i need and coz the s curl can be washed out easily even wen in braids i dont get no knotting at all, even wen i take out micros
