Have noticed DRAMATICALLY less hair shedding/breaking during washes?

I had about 5 broken pieces and shed 2 hairs. I'm used to SO much more. Especially little ends.

It's a wrap! I'm baggying all fall/winter!! /images/graemlins/clap.gif

Me...I get about 1-2 breaks a day compared to the 10-13 I was getting /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Also my shedding has gone from about 30-40 a day to about 15-20 a day.
The CO washes have been heaven sent too /images/graemlins/smile.gif

not me... i've experienced more breakage for some reason...

i think it's because i have hard water. i just ordered a Paragon shower filter today from homedepot.com. i hope this will help my hair get into better shape.

It's funny that this subject came up, Yesterday, I did my first wash after having the baggie in for 5 days. I was truly amazed at how strong my hair felt, there was hardly any shedding or breakage. I was telling my daughter about it because I couldnt understand why that was happening. I just couldnt understand how damp moist hair could be so strong after all those days under that bag. This method seems to be a keeper. I use my oil mixture on damp hair. Last week I bunned, this week I braided and loosely rolled it under the bag.

Ok, finally went and got my little baggies today. How do you ladies keep the baggies from slipping right off your hair?

Check out DSD's or adrienne's album! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I secure my baggies with a thick ponytail holder. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I also noticed less breakage when using the baggie. I also moisturize all of my hair very well when it's in the baggie. I cover the rest of my hair with virgin coconut oil and Surge's Ultra Max, the same products that I use on the hair that's in the baggie.

I also noticed less shedding and breakage while doing the baggie method. I started off doing it at night and wearing a bun to work. I was pleasantly surprised how well this is working for me.

I cover my head with a plastic bag in the evening and sleep with it at night, when I combed out my hair on Tuesday, very little came out, as compared to when I combed my hair out on Sunday, before I washed it. It is very good.

Skinny hair elastics. I wrap mine around three times.

Okay why didn't I see this thread before I started another?! Anyhoo, I'm having more breaking too! Why?? I was thinking that maybe my hair needs to breathe. /images/graemlins/confused.gif Maybe being up is enough b/c some air can pass thru but my ends are breaking and they weren't before /images/graemlins/frown.gif . I think I'm done w/the baggie. I'll just load my ends up w/more stuff when I put it up. Maybe night time only or something. :/images/graemlins/perplexed.gif:

I mainly do this only at night unless I'm phonyponying /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif .

Sengs, your hair looks like it's really soft. Have you considered diluting a little of your oils with alot of distilled water?

I use mine on dry hair. My hair breaks too when I use straight oil on it.

I put my hair in the baggie method right after washing. I put my leave-ins and oils in my hair. So do u think it's the straight oils without diluting that could be causing some hair breakage too??? /images/graemlins/confused.gif But personally, after I apply oils on my hair, my hair is more manageable and prevents breakage. So maybe it is the hard water I have running outta my shower. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

It is either the hard water or all the oil. I notice almost no breakage when I dilute my oils as compared to too much when I don't dilute it.

I first noticed it when I used to do pre-poos on dry hair. I had extra shedding and breaking.

Can you tell that from the pics?? You're good /images/graemlins/wink.gif . It's super soft. It think the weight of the oil is too much. I diluted it today (w/o baggie) w/the conditioner. Last week I was using stay-sof-fro and oils, then later in the week I used world o' curls w/distilled water and other leave-ins (my random extras spray bottle /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif ). And I added these things to dry hair as well or hair that was still moist from the baggie.

I noticed that when I did the baggie method in october w/ braids and a phony puff. I think I might start doing it on the regular just because of that.. like go get a straight phony pony and wear it as a chignon every day.

Ok, I've been officially doing the baggie method for a few days now and I really like it. My ends stay moisturized and it looks like this is going to be a keeper for me! After my trim next month I think this will really help me with trying to not trim for a year afterwards. Go Baggie Method! /images/graemlins/clap.gif
