I'm feeling like a loner here as it seems like everyone here has their hair game on lock. But I know I'm not the only newbie (if not in the literal sense of being new to LHCF, then at least in the sense of getting her healthy hair routine together). Who else is a "newbie"? We need to support one another . . . so we can have beautiful fotki shots, too

i feel brand new...i see other sistas getting incredible length and retension in such short periods of time..

then again, I saw someone yesterday on here who has been on LHCF for like 2 years and she is barely shoulder length. unless she was relaxed, bc, and then relaxed again I am wondering what's her story. don't wanna ask though...:look:

Hi GG and other Newbies :newbie: !!!!! I thought I was alone in this forum. I have about 5 weeks of hair tlc under my belt. Good luck to you all. I hope this year brings you much growth:grin:

GG, you start a lot of threads so I never knew you were a newbie

I consider myself a newbie to healthy growing hair. I've was lurking in 2004-05 on here and other hair boards, and joined LHCF in 2006, but have only really started doing something on a reagular basis as far as a routine and really getting healthy results and growth in 2007, and i only started my fotki in April. (If only i'd start doing what i'm doing now, when i first started lurking..sigh)

cheer up:kiss: ! At least your starting now or you'd be saying the same thing in 2 more years. Now that you've made your mind up, i'm sure you'll make great progress

if it makes you feel any better, everytime ireach a target, my journey begins again to reach another one!

I'm new too. when I started I was so hyped.... charged up. now I'm stagnated and disgruntled... but plugging ahead none the less. I'm learning to be patient.

I've got 3 years before I'll see the results I want (I think?)

Hi all!, :)

I'm not new to the board, but my hair is just starting back out, because I got lazy plain and simple. But I've been taking much better care of it since February and I had grown my hair out before, so I know it won't take long to get it back on track.

I had a thread about it a little while ago, http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=126154 but best of luck and I can't wait to see your progress pics down the line!!

Count Me In. I'm just starting out and learning so much. LHCF is addictive. I'm at work logging on all day. Trying and Buying everything that I learn obout and people are getting goo results from. I'm falling in love with my hair now and love my new regimen and am all excited on wash day. I can't wait to post updates like the others here.

I imagine they have probably have had alot of set backs it happens to the best of us.. me including.

I would consider myself a "newbie" b/c i've also been here 2 years and my hair is barely shoulder length.. my problem is in - bloody - consistentcy I can cant commit to NOTHING (hair related that is ;) ) and only recently refusing to give the heat up.. although i've been here 2 years I know that in the next 2 I would have made some SERIOUS progress b/c im finally understanding ;)

i have been here 2 years and i havent touched SL yet. but i had a lot of breakage, plus a cut (which was supposed to be a trim) and had parts of my burned off, so i had my share of setbacks. i've bene here for two years but it was only until recently i decided to be serious about my hair care, so i feel like i am in the beginning because i am still learning what my hair likes and im trying to tackle the small obstacles first. i am still looking for a good moisturizing DC.

I'm a newbie! :D I'm about 6 months into finally understanding how to take care of my hair and just started on obtaining some serious growth...I'm with you all the way!! Since LHCF, I've become a PJ :lachen:

thanks for the encouragment ;)

I was looking at KeraCare but the prices will literally kill my pocket maybe I could get my bf to buy it with my hooded dryer as a say present for 1 st of june day :look:

Happy hair growing, ladies! :) I can't wait to see you all helping out the "newbies" as you reach your goals!

I just discovered LHCF 4 weeks ago. I was a member of nappturality.com when I was natural and learned how to take care of my natural hair, but being relaxed is a whole new ball game. I'm definitely new to this!! The back of my hair looks like it's about touching shoulder length, but the front and sides are barely at my ears! Looking at everyone's comparison pics really helps to keep me focused and determined to take care of my hair and hopefully get some length eventually.

I am like a month into a new journey. Ive been on this hair thing since 2000.

But trying methods here specifically for growing out is new to me.

im a newbie; only about 4months in. And let me tell you what a long journey it will be because i cant even begin to worry about length until my transition is over and done with :ohwell:

Just let him know that having you is a holiday EVERYDAY! :o)

Try to buy it piece by piece. Ask family members. When I first started my mom bought me the shampoo and conditioner and my aunt bought me the styling aids. I had to work it out some how! :)

Well, i've been here since January, but in terms of really taking the advice on the boards, I've been on-again, off-again . . . mostly experimenting with different products and trying to find what works for me. So far, I have to say I've been disappointed. I know different things work for different people and this is just part of the process . . . but it can get a little discouraging. I almost feel like I was doing better when I wasn't *trying* to grow my hair and just did whatever came naturally.

I'm a newbie, too- I began visiting hair boards in January and trimmed all of the damaged ends at the beginning of February. My hair was neck length, I guess. I do have photos. At times, I have felt like it was growing so slowly and I wasn't making real substantial progress. I was blown away when I deep conditioned last night. Because I'm natural, I never see it's full length- but wet with the conditioner it was straight and I could tell it was well past shoulder length. So, be patient and it will happen before you know it- and we'll all support each other on our hair journeys.

hmm that is true lol :D

Yeah I was thinking of doing it bit by bit... buying the conditioner 1st followed by the rest. I had a silly split second thought of taking my own lil sample before I purchased

I'd hate to buy it and then realise it doesn't work for me.. then again I suppose I could pass it on to someone

I am new too! I have taken fairly good care of my hair since going natural about 3 years ago but I have never actively pursued long healthy hair AND I will be texlaxing soon so I am in all new territory. I am happy to be here with you all :)!

I'm sorta of a newbie. I joined the boards in January of this year. However, I find myself really convinced that everyone else can grow long hair but me. I still have to tell myself that black women don't have to be born with long hair, we can grow it. :)

Right now, I'm having problems with my thyroid so my hair is coming out in thin, fine strands constantly. I went for RAI therapy on the 18th of May so I should be getting better soon and my hair will stop falling out eventually. We'll see what happens. I'm trying not to give up. For now, I'll just keep washing and deep conditioning and rollersetting weekly.

HHG!

I'm a newbie; I just joined LHCF last month. I spent years of letting my hair be abused by stylist over-relaxing my hair, and then once I went all natural, I still did not seriously take care of my hair. Once I started lurking on LHCF (2006) is when I decided that I wanted healthy long hair.

Hello Ladies!

I am knew here too. Well,I use to only care about making sure my hair was cute and fly all the time with the latest styles, especially in high school. Even if the style was damaging! EX: Glued in tracks!

I never did followed any of the basic rules that I learned here except stretching. I only did Deep conditioning treatments every blue moon. :ohwell: My hair stayed at shoulder length and my ends looked bad.I just thank GOD that I still have this much hair! The sad part is that i come from a family of cosmetologist!

Happy hairgrowing ladies and I look forward to everyones progress.
