their relaxer process? And I mean everything....if so, have you experience any problems on the day you relax your hair?

The reason why I ask is this is my first long stretch (22weeks). I will get my relaxer on May 17, 2009, but I have a bridal shower on May 3, 2009 so I wanted to do everything on that day including blowing out my hair slightly so that it would be more manageable for the day of the bridal shower and the day I get my hair relaxed.

so...any responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ever since I discovered that I didn't have to shampoo my hair to get it clean I haven't gone more than a week before washing, whether I was planning on getting a relaxer or not. What is the point of waiting two weeks?

I have washed and done my hair 3 days before a relaxer without any problem. The most I can and will wait is one week before with no problems. The myth that your hair has to be dirty for a relaxer is just that a myth.

I normally do. The last time, I washed the week before and it was an awful tangled nightmare dealing with all the new growth. I prefer to wait and let the stylist do it at relaxer time so there's less overall manipulation.

I normally wash 3-5 days before my relaxer
