Which shampoo are you currently using and how often are you using it. Also, are you pre-pooing? If so with what?

My favorite Shampoo is Creme of Nature Green label (Old Version).

I used to Prepoo with Shescenitit Advocado Prepoo Treatment.

Now I will be prepoo with Coconut Oil.

Trying to save money.

Moisture Shampoos: Creme of Nature (old green label) or KeraCare Hydrating/Detangling shampoo
Protein Shampoos: Mizani Renew Strength or RedKen Extreme or Aphogee

Pre-poo: S-Curl and Dabur Amla oil. Saturate the hair with this and sit under a plastic shower cap for 'bout and hour.

I've become a mizani addict in just a few shampoos my hair already is more moisturized.

Moisture: Mizani botanifying shampoo and moisturfuse conditioner; Mizani Moisturfusion shampoo and conditioner (my hair never felt so moisturized it was weird and only a few shed hairs during wash) down side the conditioner has mineral oil :(

Protein: Mizani reconstructing poo and gelee.

forgot to add I sometimes prepoo with either coconut oil or avocado, I haven't been prepooing as much because it really didn't seem to make a difference in my hair.

I Currently only use Shampoo every 4,6,8 Weeks.:yep:

And then I use a Clarifying Shampoo. Today (which just happened to be a 'Poo Day) I used Avalon Organics Lemon, Shea & Babbasu Oil Clarifying Shampoo.

Others I have:grin::

Aubrey Organics Green Tea
AG Fast Food Clarifying Shampoo
Abba Molasses Clarifyer
Eulcence Clarifying Shampoo

I don't have a specific shampoo. I have used these at one time or another:

Giovanni 50:50 Hydrating Clarifying Shampoo
Trader Joe's Nourish Spa
Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle w/ Peppermint and Eucalyptus
J/A/S/O/N Natural Jojoba Scalp Balancing Shampoo

I particularly like them for washing my scalp. I love gel looking shampoos for that.

I use Nexxus Therappe or Elucence after a protein treatment. I use Garnier Fructis if I'm too lazy to do a protein treatment after a spell and want to get my scalp clean too (it's gel like, you see...so I'm happy using it on my scalp). I use HE Long Rlp in place of Garnier when my scalp is clean and I just need my hair strengthened a bit. I don't like creamy shampoos on my scalp so Elucence, Therappe, HE Long Rlp, NTM all come in handy if I just want to focus on my hair not scalp.

No I don't have all these at the same time, but I do tend to have at least 2-3 for the different uses. I shampoo my hair twice a week. No I do not prepoo.

I've been looking for the Creme of Nature Green Label but can't seem to find it. I see a orange or red one though. The one I purchased is a moisturizing shampoo...Citrus Kiwi I believe. Would you happen to have a pic of the shampoo?

^^^^ The old formula (green label) has been discontinued. You might still be able to find some leftover bottles in some Asian BSS' though.

I use the old CON green label
Joico K-Pak
Quantum chelating

I still use CON green label. I saw a bottle in a discount store the other day. Next time I'm gonna stock up. I've never found a shampoo better than CON. I'm not messing with the new formula because I dont like to use sulfates.

I get the green label from paynes beauty supply or texas beauty supply....both online distributors.

For Moisture: Aphogee Deep Moisture poo (my fave) and Elucence MB. I use moisture poos with every wash (weekly).
To Clarify/ Chelate: Elucence Volume Clarifying (its ok) i use this every 8 weeks or so.
For Strengthening: Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair (just ok).

I prepoo with coconut oil whenever i have the time.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration
I DC before I shampoo using GVP Conditioning balm mixed with a whole bunch of ayurvedic goodies (amla powder, kalpi tone powder, brahmi oil, etc.).
I hated this shampoo before, but it works if you use it every other week or after a good deep condition. I used no poo for about 3 months and my hair was just too greasy and thin and lifeless. This shampoo brought my hair back to life!! My hair is so thick! :D (wish i could post pics but finals...)

last wash i used joico's moisture recovery shampoo. it worked really nicely.
i like aveda's smooth infusion. i'd love it if it wasn't so pricey. it does wonders on detangling my hair.

to clarify 1x per month i use nexxus aloe rid shampoo.

that's about it :)

Kenra MS
PM Super Strong
Nexxus Therappe
ORS Aloe

Prepoo with protein condishes mixed w/ a little Global Goddess Oil

I am currently using Naked Naturals Citrus shampoo. I have a ton of shampoo but I am getting rid of a lot of stuff and only keeping my favorites. I really like it so I will probably repurchase it or try another one from the same brand.

I currently don't pre poo but I am thinking about trying it for a full year as my 2010 challenge. If I do it will probably be with an oil blend. I'm actually looking in another window right now at possible choices.

lately Ive been using Joico Kpak shampoo once a week. I only lather once with the kpak and then I follow it up with hair one olive oil.

I have about 3 or 4 shampoos:

  • Suave Kids' Free and Gentle (great for removing light product build up and it does not leave my hair feeling stripped)
  • ORS Cream Aloe (used as a relaxer neutralizer)
  • Pantene Clarifying (removes EVERYTHING and can leave hair feeling slightly stripped)
  • Nioxin Cleanser #1 (leaves scalp clean, refreshed and hair feels moisturized)
I don't have a schedule for shampooing. Sometimes I 'poo every time I wash; sometimes it is once every two weeks. It depends on the amount of products used prior to washing.

I prepoo with ANY conditioners that did not cut it as co-wash conditioners as well as hot oil treatments. Pre-poos are a great way to use up unlikeable conditioners or oils.

I pre-poo every week with either olive oil or a light protein conditioner.

I follow that up with a moisture poo or protein poo(Aphogee for damaged hair) if my hair needs it and then deep condition with heat.

My last wash was with Pantene moisture poo, I also use Aphogee, Garnier, Mizani or the Aphogee deep moisture poo.

I have some Paul Mitchell moisture poo that I'll try out later today.

AO White Camellia & Blue Camomile Hydrating Shampoo, Giovanni SAS Shampoo (moisturizing)

AO Swimmer's Shampoo (clarifying) I add baking soda if there is extra builp up.

Pre poo with Avocado/Vitamine E/Jojoba ( when I feel lilike it) or DC then poo.

The bolded is the one I use, I don't mind sulfates. I dilute it with water and only lather once. My scalp/hair is clean and I haven't had that "stripping" feeling. I shampoo every two weeks and I pre-poo with castor oil + a condish (for now one I'm using up the ones that didn't "wow" me, tryna use them up).

Elasta QP Shampoo for Relaxed Hair/EQP Creme Conditioning poo

Didn't know you needed shampoo with protein...

Aubrey Organics honeysuckle rose moisturizing shampoo
Aubrey Organics white camomille shampoo
Logona Organics moisturizing shampoo
ORS creamy aloe shampoo and Herbal Essences hello hydration - for clarifying
Will be adding Aubrey Organics JAY revitalizing shampoo and Giovanni tea tree treat (I think) into the mix soon.

x- C O N ( the old formula is getting harder and harder to find, ill be making a bulk purchase soon)

x- ORS ( regular formula)

x- Bumble and Bumble- ( however at 26 dollars for 9 0z its the kinda thing you dont really want to see floating down the drain)

I use a shikakai bar and Elucence Volume Clarifying shampoo. That's it. My hair doesn't really like anything else in terms of shampoo.

ETA: I do pre-poo. Usually the pre-poo consists of a lot of oils and conditioner I'm trying to get rid of. If I heat styled before a wash, then I will incorporate a protein treatment into the pre-poo. If not, it's not particularly protein heavy.

Things I have used, may or may not use, or typically use for a pre-poo: alter ego garlic*, honey*, evoo,* coconut oil,* wheat germ oil*, bpt wheat germ rinse, morrocan oil hydrating mask, ORS mayonnaise/giovanni nutrafix/molasses (in the event of heat styling), amla oil*, aussie moist, castor oil, cinnamon, rosemary infused water, avocado, coconut milk, etc. Basically whatever I have lying around.

*=always use

I use Earthly Delight Herbal Shampoo. I use it once a month when I do a DC on dry hair. I also use V05 Kiwi Lime Squeeze Clarifying Poo, but I don't do pre-poos.

I use Chagrin Valley shampoo bars and I wash once a week. I don't pre-poo. I add olive oil to the last lather just before rinsing, this leaves some behind in my hair.
