Which products are your strand savers for stretching?????

Please forgive me if there was another thread on this, but I thought it may be helpful since we've got so many members in the 2005 Christmas Stretch Club.

Are there any products that make your stretch *enjoyable* rather than *miserable*???

Giovanni Direct is probably the best weapon I have against unruly new growth right now. I think a mix of water & vegetable glycerine has been helpful for me, and I know that Nexxus Humectress (w/ EVOO) can work wonders for me too.

I'm experimenting with Miss Key this weekend, and from the reviews, I think it'll be a stretch helper too...we shall see.

Which products get you through those cold days & lonely nights of stretching???

My last relaxer was about 30 weeks ago now. I put so many products in my hair to deal with the new growth now it is ridiculous  . I wear a wet bun every day - I detailed my method in this thread:

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=63042&highlight=soaking+wet+bun

But basically, every day I use water, Suave Waterfall Mist conditioner (leave in), olive oil, Hollywood Beauty Carrot Creme, a little Liv and a little Dep gel
JUST to be able to comb my hair into a bun! Whew!

ETA: Name of conditioner is Suave Waterfall Mist not Water Lily!

One day a month? Lucky you. Maybe I should consider a sew-in coz its getting tougher for me each day.
The only thing that really works for me is sta-sof-fro. I just spray it on, bun and go!

The best product that works for when stretching my relaxer is BBD Sretch Creme I see only a few hairs in my comb with this product.

Ooooo it's on sale for $29.99. Usually it's $45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doggone, why did you have to post this sale?!?! Now, my card has found it's way into my hand and I ordered some:lol: Oh well, I'd rather pay $30 than $45 (bargain shopper). Hopefully it will work for my ng now that I've decided to transition (trying to avoid BC). Thanks for the tip!

ETA: Had to call Irby's directly because I was having trouble ordering. The lady informed me that they no longer receive it from Big D. She thinks he was upset because she was offering it at a lower price. Oh well, I guess I'll have to pay full price.

Actually I was the one that called around 3 EST and spoke to the lady at Irby's and she told me that they no longer carry the product.

I have a friend who lives in Ypsilanti (where BBD is located) so I'm going to email her and see if it ever goes on sale locally. From what the woman told me at Irby's, it doesn't. He likes to keep the price at $45 and wants the distributors to do the same.

I'll let you ladies know what my friend finds out.

My friend emailed me back and this is her response:

I found out that his products are good but may not be worth the price and not that spectacular. When I mentioned the particular product you wanted to my hairdresser said she...you would be just as good mixing humectress and Kerafix to create a reconstructor.

She is going by the store location in Ypsilanti and see if they sell it for less than online.

I'm going to try the Giovanni Reconstructor that I purchased from vitacost.com for $4.89 so hopefully that will help and I'll never have to spend the $45!

ETA: She also said she saw Big D on Judge Mathis where a woman was trying to get her money back from a hair show! She says he always talks in rhymes.
