Hey ladies, I'm going oil shopping this weekend, and I want to know which oils penetrate the hair shaft and which are more conditioning. It's freezing here, and I need an oil that can help my hair get through my first real winter. Thanks!

My hair hates most oils, but jojoba oil is one oil I can use in moderation that gives me no problems.

I know that coconut oil penetrates the hair as well.

ITA! I know jojoba oil for sure will penetrate. It "mimicks" hair's natural sebum. I think macademia nut, coconut, red palm oil might penetrate, but not as much. I would do an on-line search about the last 3 mentioned to see what you come up with. Good luck!

Jojoba oil doesnt penetrate hair (only the skin) it is a great sealing oil though. olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, avocado oil are great (hair) penetrating oils.
