Which lye relaxer gives you the best results, with the least problems? And could you please list the pros and cons associated with it? Thanks

IMO.....Mizani Butter Blends is great.....BUT I DON'T like the fact that my stylist made my hair look so straight, my hair looks like it was sticking to my scalp....but no problems by far....I just felt like Mizani was a lil too strong for me......I need something more easy on the scalp so I switch to No Lye.....A lot of ladies like Silk Elments Lye Mild or Regular, some ladies use Design Essentials and Affirm....I'm not sure about the other ones....HTH!

I have used Vitale Life and Body to texturize (adding olive oil to it) for the past couple of years and I have never had any problems.

I like Mizani with Lye for Colored Treated Hair works for me. My hair color is very shiny and smooth. I got a touch up after six weeks, I know, but the last touch was with no lye so I didn't have any pop nor shine. I washed my hair last night roller set and wrap. Beautiful. Head Banger, but my scalp is so so itchy. :( When I get home, I have to put some Vanika or tea tree oil to help me out.

I like ORS (not the box kit). It's inexpensive and it doesn't make my hair to straight. I use the mild version and leave it in half the recommed time.

I think it matters what your hair goal is.

I use Motions Herbal because it doesn't straighten well and has been known to revert. I only use it mixed with conditioner and it does exactly what I want it too.

Silk Elements, hands down. It all depends upon your hair texture. I'm 3c naturally according to http://www.curlyhairsalon.com/hairtypes.html and have used Linange Shea Butter, Mizani, Hawaiian Silky and ORS Lye and they were all too strong. HS Mild just didn't feel right in my hair for some reason. But Mizani and Linange and ORS were way too strong for me. Left me with lifeless locs. If you check my pic, that's a braidout  or else, it hangs straight. It's not puffy and frizzy as it used to be because it's more conditioned...just bone straight.

Silk Elements (also SE Neut. Shampoo & Conditioner) was my last chance before I got tired and whacked it all off. I used it on my new growth only and it's not too straight. I use the Mild, which Linange and ORS do not have in the Lye. Mizani mild was too strong for me. My results are conditioned, relaxed just right hair that is silky and strong. I'm using it for the longhaul.

Even if people do not want to use their relaxer, the shampoo and conditioning treatments are superior. I've not used anything like them and I have a closet full of high-end salon products. Nothing is like the SE. I'm very surprised this is a Sally's product.

Where did you find ORS mild? I haven't seen it yet up here so I got the SE...and am satisfied with the products. That's one reason I switched...no mild in the lye. At least, I coudn't find it. Hmmmm.

I'm no longer relaxing but Mizani Butter Blends was the truth. I actually just tossed some in the trash. Didn't want to get tempted by it...

I love Silk Elements w/Shea Butter (I also use the SE neutralizing shampoo, but their conditioners don't seem to do much for my hair). I touched up with it yesterday (second time), and it's terrific! I do mix in a couple of squirts of sweet almond oil and a dash of EVOO to give myself more working time. I had shied away from lye relaxers for years because I believed the anti-lye hype, but after lots of lurking and research I decided to give it a try, and I love it.
