Store brand products: Suave, Vo5, WGO, etc or High end products: Nexxus, Aveda, Designer Essentials, etc or Natural products: mayonaise, honey, evoo, etc?

I find salon products to perform more consistently on my hair. Honey is great too....soups up many great and less than great products as well.

Salon and some Natural Products work better for me, I guess because most salon products have less harsh ingredients than cheap store products, and natural products basically have NONE of the harsh ingredients.. i think both have a higher quality than store brands.

I fully admit that I'm a snob when it comes to this topic. I used to only use drugstore brands, Panetene, CON, etc. It wasn't until I had a taste of salon brands and then went back and tried to use cheap stuff again that I actually saw the difference. IMO salon brands are much less harsh and are just generally better quality than anything you can get at a drugstore or supermarket. I use Kerastase now and I will NEVER use cheap stuff on my hair again. But, I still think that Pantene is one of the best smelling lines out there!

for me i will say all three. i tend to mix and match and experiment to get the best results for my hair. However, i am an advocate for natural products i love the authentic ingredients with less or no chemicals or synthetic additives. My hair has been healthier than it has ever been since i started making my homemade recipes for hair and keeping it simple.

Honestly girl, I don't know. I have been a product junkie for so long I change so frequently. However, I love Creme of Nature shampoo and Pantene R&N poo. For conditioner, I use motions CPR each time I poo. I have tried other things and they don't compare to these items. I love them the most.

Salon all the way. I most definitely see and feel the difference.

I actually end up spending a lot LESS on hair care products when using salon stuff because one product will do the trick. When you use drug store stuff, you have to keep switching and combining products to get the same result. In the end, buying a ton of store products is more costly than sticking to a salon line.

ITA with this. Using quality products eliminates the need for a bunch of other stuff to try and get the same results.

Salon and natural products difinitely work better on my hair
and I can also tell the difference.
I must admit too that some of the dominican products work great also.

It is funny I use to say salon/high end line work the best until one day I realized that my fave shampoos with the exception of my clarifier and PM Super Skinny poo are drugstore/bss lines. I don't plan on ever getting rid of Elasta QP poo or Breaktrhu poo. For conditioners overall it is more likely to be a hit if it is a salon conditioner but right now for Nacidit Olive Conditioner is the best overall.

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

I really like the Elasta QP shampoos. But, I notice that I get better results with salon conditioners.

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

I think its better in the long run to find one salon brand that u like and works for u and stick to that than to constantly be buying different products looking for the magic potion. My two favorites are Nexxus and Design Essentials, and I plan to alternate between the two once I go through the millions of products I have now. I have read and experienced that the different products in one line seem to compliment another, plus u dont have to worry about overloading on certain ingredients because they are all made to work together.

An exception to me is natural oils and ingredients from around the house(EVOO,etc) are easily incorporated and compliment a regimen. Also, most salon brands dont have a hairdress I like (most ethnic ones have something like a grease with petrolatum/mineral oil in the top of the list which I dont like).

Salon products and health store products, they're both expensive and of higher quality.

I used to use Nexxus for YEARS. Then within the last year I've been faithful to Design Essentials.

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

Salon products and natural products are for me. I went the cheap route, and got cheap results. Now I stick to a quality product line and natural products with predictable excellent results.

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

Hmmm. I think I like salon products a little bit better. But there are some drugstore brands that I like as well. I guess with a few exceptions, my hair likes everything!

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

My hair likes natural(AO and Jasons) and salon products(Kerastase, Nexxus and Affirm) best!!!

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

I prefer salon products. And it's not just a bias I have either - but I notice a real difference between washes where I use salon products and when I use drugstore brands. The surgstore products tend to build up faster and my hair gets dry and doesn't feel moist as soon as a day after when I use suave or NTM - which are some of the better brands....

I do have DS products I love, but I'm a salon product girl at heart.

My faves are Nexxus, Elucence, and Kenra....Elasta QP is growing on me too!

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

the exception is NTM ...my hair loves this stuff!!!

Re: Which do you find to be better for you and why

I consider Elasta QP a salon product because most of them you have to buy at a BSS....
