Just curious to know where some of you ladies find the time to do all the things you do in your regimen? It seems like some of you here do a lot of things daily/every other day to keep the hair in tip top shape. Where do you find the time? How do you fit it in? Do you get tired of doing it after a while? What will happen if you stop doing it?

Sorry so many questions :)

When I first was starting out, it was hard and had to write it down like a schedule, but then as time went on it just became apart my routine, so washing weekly and moisturizing daily is now like second nature. The best thing I could suggest is to do your hair on day that is your relax day, for me it is either Saturday or Sunday.

I don't have the time or the inclination to do a long, complicated regimen every day. I only do big things on wash day which is once a week. For the rest of the days, I just make sure it looks presentable and I keep it moving.

By now it's so routine. I do my regimen 2 x each week, usually in the evening so my hair can airdry overnight. That helps with the time.

You're asking what will happen if I stop having a regimen? I'm not sure, but I try to keeps things as simple as I can. My hair will still grow and I have a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and getting daily exercise so that helps also. My hair will still thrive from the inside out. I will always have some kind of regimen for my hair, since I have the knowledge now.

When I first joined I was doing things like moisturizing 2-3x's a day, now my hair is at it's ultimate in the moisture, strength, porosity, and elasticity area. I even just recently changed my poo schedule to once a wk. for the warm months and will go back to twice a wk for the winter. I just put those things in my schedule, if not I would be looking crazy, lol, and we don't want that. Plus as a mother, wife, and just being a woman you need personal time for yourself, so I made time for me, and I'm loving it now and so is my hair. After awhile things will get easier just keep up w/your routine the best you can so your hair and you can enjoy the benefits. Even if you miss a hair day, God willing, there is always the next day. :)

In the beginning, it's definately a lot of work, it was more like a chore for me to keep up with any kind of hair routine.

Now I just think of it as "me" time...I have specific days of the week I do my hair. I usually start in the early evening, I can make and eat dinner while I do my pre-poo, then take a couple of hours to finish my hair and be relaxed before I go to bed. :)

D I T T O!!

Yeah I also think of it as me time. I usually cowash then air dry 2-3 times a week then on fridays do the long deep con process with treatments so that is my personal time. I put in my favorite CD and have a really good time!!!! its a lot of fun!!!!!:D

The tipping point was my hair started feeling softer and more moisturized. It's such a pleasure for me to look after my hair now that I look forward to weekends when I'll do the wash and deep treatment. I must admit, before I found the boards, looking after my hair was always such a chore which I left until last minute Sunday night/Monday morning. In the evenings I just moisturize the ends.

Now if only exercise and good skin care would come so easily... :ohwell:

I don't have the time usually. I try and squeeze in a deepconditioning/pre shampoo treatment while watching tv on Thursday nights. Fridays I'm usually out and Saturdays are busy for me...Sundays on average I'm not in either so I have to plan it well. I book my hair "treatments" on my calendar otherwise it'll be pushed back a week..lol. What I do now is x a week (if possible) I wash and then just oil/moisturize it until the next wash day. That's all I have time for.

I don't have a complicated regime so it doesn't take long to care for my hair, i wear protective styles daily and i try not to take my hair down until wash day which i've pushed forward to every 10-14 days. my treatments take about 2 hours in total, then its back in a bun.

OT Faith congrats on reaching waistlength, your hair is AWESOME girl

It can be rather time-consuming, esp. since Im one who MTG's 4x a week, co-washes once a week, and regular washes once a week. Im able to do it because I teach undergrad psychology Mon-Thur for just a couple of hours a day, then Im free..... The rest of the time Im at a home just relaxing, preparing my lecture for the next class, and writing my dissertation. So I have the luxury of being at home for most of the day to take my time with my regimen.

Like most of the ladies here, in the beginning it was really a challenge. Now that I have my routine down, it's pretty simple. On weekends, I deep con and let my hair dry overnight - finish styling, flat ironing, whatever, the next day. On weekdays, I clean the house, do laundry, whatever while my conditioner is on my hair. And I work my routine around my hair instead of letting my hair work me!
