I am new to the idea of chelate. I thought clarifying was good enough but I keep hearing about this chelate process to break down the chemicals in hair. Could someone please assist me with a list of shampoos or methods I can use for this?

Thanks! :)

Redken makes one as does ORS. The Organic Root stimulator shampoo, the aloe one is a chelating poo. Look at the shampoo's for swimmers and hard water too. Many of them chelate. The ORS one should only run you a couple of bucks. It smells really nice too.

Ditto on the ORS Creamy Aloe poo. Easily accessible, cheap, works great, smells good :yep:

A chelating shampoo removes hard water minerals, metals, and toxins. It removes copper, iron, etc. I think that most (or all) chelating shampoos also clarify.

A clarifying shampoo just removes product buildup.

kgard7777, check Trade Secret for Redken Cleansing Cream.

How will you know if its a chelating shampoo when you go to the store? Will "chelating" be in the name or will it say so anywhere on the label??

Kenra has it written on the bottle.
Can't speak for the rest of the products.
But it should be on the front of the bottle.

I used the ORS aloe last night.:lick::lick::lick: Deep conditioned with the replenishing pak, did my MN mix, spritzed with moisturizer and sealed with vatika. Woke up and you couldn't tell me nothing. I was fine to myself.:drunk:

My hair is so soft now and NO BREAKAGE. I was losing a lot of hair and couldn't figure out why my hair was so rough. Sometimes you read a thread while searching for help and your brain (or hair) says 'that's why you were on here today, that's the answer" and it works!

Thank you so much, guys. I went to the big BSS in our city and spent 4.99 on it.
