I never used it before, but I do use this homemade butter I made from jasmine wax and castor oil and I mainly use it on my ends.

My Friend - I didn't measure, but all I did was melt the jasmine wax in a double boiler and added castor oil in a 3:1 ratio (3 being the castor oil and 1 being the jasmine wax). The other day I added about 1 part more almond oil. The consistency is like coconut milk, but its a very heavy balm. Almost reminds me of Carol's Daughter Hair Balm. HTH

I got mine from Garden of Wisdom at the time. I'm still trying to find the best place with the best price and shipping cost.

I do like the results. I haven't used "regular" grease in eons, but I do like how this feels as opposed to just regular butters...
