Some of my staple products are just not cutting it anymore and it makes me sad. Does that happen to anyone else?

I have to find something new to DC with I've been using cholesterol w/vitamin e for freaking ever and the last couple of DC's it just hasn't been moisturizing the way it used to.

I'm so sad I love that stuff.

What do you do when your staples just aren't happenin?

I find that the products that I use in the Spring and Summer, I can't use in the Fall/Winter because the air changes and when that happens, so does my hair.

Find what works for you for this season. I find that I need more moisterizing products during this time.

I wouldn't give up on what you like now, just use it at a different time.

HTH

I clarify. I assume there's build up and its time to release it. I haven't been wrong yet, so let's hope this remains true.

So true Nice N Wavy. I think this winter the weather has just been so weird my skin/hair is like WTF NO.

I have been itching to try something new anyway. I'm hittin Sally's this weekend.

I clarified too thinking that was it. Nope. My hair just said no try again.

I wonder now if it's a lack of build up. I've switched up my reggie a little and I noticed I have a lot less build up. I have to think about that.

I clarify too. I wish I'd known this before I bought a whole bunch of new products!!

maybe you need to take the next step and chelate.

Yup! I agree! Maybe it's time to clarify your hair because of all the build-up!

ITA! I only wash my hair once a month (yes i said it!) and before that i use to wash no more than once a week, either way i always clarify on every wash because of the products i use, and i get the same great results everytime!

Clarify! even plain ol water and vinegar will work wonders and get your products to work again.

I would clarify, but if you have hard water you might need to use a chelating shampoo; which removes product buildup and also removes mineral deposit build up from hard water...
