what do you use that doesnt cause breakage. I hate putting my hair in a pony cuz its soooo fragile that everytime id go to put it back i can hear it snapping so i dont do that nemore. So usually i just give it a twist and hold it there with one of those snapping barettes...like the snapping action that happens in clip on hair, u kno u push it and it opens, one of those flat barette things. just wondering what else i can use to put my hair up to ensure that it doesnt break as a result.

I do the same as you, or I use claw clips. I like the ones with rounded non-sharp claws that point IN. They never break my hair.

I don't like the ones with the sharp claws that point/stick OUT.

I use a claw clip, the ones made for thick hair. I also like those bear claw clips though the one I had broke. Beak clips work well, too. Just recently I realized that I can use hair sticks.

I still use scrunchies, preferably satin, but I don't pull my hair tight and it's better if the scrunchie is just the right size so I don't have to wrap it twice.

satin scrunchies (never wrapped) for my buns
large bear claws for cutsy updo's (ends dangling outta the claw)
beak type clips sometimes
