get the ends of the braid to stay when you want to leave the ends/half the hair unbraided (to curl etc.) without the use of elastic bands?

I want to know thw same thing. I had used human hair for my braids a few months ago because they hold more moisture. But they kept unravelling at the ends. So now my recent braids are the Kanekeleon (sp?)synethic hair. I would love to wear the human hair, if they could stay braided at the ends.

What kind of braids are you doing? Are they cornrows, or micros? Big or small? Depends on how small they are and how tight you weave the braid (not at the roots, but the braid itself)it should stay on its own. If not, I know many people opt to use a dab of nail glue to stop the braid, but if you do this, be sure to braid down PAST the actual hair before applying the glue.

I take a small piece of the hair and make a little tie at the end.

Me too...take a thin strand and make a knot with it.

When I had braids, they stayed on their own, and I left the ends loose so that I could curl them

I use mousse to freeze the braided part so it doesn't come undone.

Oh, they are small-medium individuals (the width of a pen)
Thanks for the suggestions!
