I've never done a super-stretch. I only go 10-12 weeks between relaxers. What leave-in works well for those of you that do the almighty super stretches?

Well for me I am doing my 1st 12 week stretch, so this is a big deal! Anyhow, this may sound crazy, but I use African Pride Braid Spray. The only reason for this is that a while back I ran out of UBH Dew and I was in desperate need of a mist. I noticed my mom had this spray, read over the ingredients and thought 'hey, why not' (and used it as my leave in and daily moisterizer). Anyhow, that braid spray kept my hair so moist, and I must say I never saw any breakage when I used it.

The only downfall was that I could not keep my hair in curls because I used a lot of it that it weighed my hair down....

I use profectiv (green) and s-curl when the newgrowth is super thick. I normally go at least 12wks between relaxers but I have gone much furthur. I can easily comb thru my newgrowth using profectiv. Too heavy if you wear your hair down but I rarely do so it's perfect for me.

super stretches r fun!!!

i use MNT leave in and sometimes keracare leave in.

i use the profectiv healthy ends on damp hair for an intensive treatment

I've never done a super stretch, but I have gone as long as 14 weeks. Hot oil treatments make my hair much more manageable. For leave-ins, my trusty Motions Nourish Leave-In, Perm Repair Setting Lotion, WGHO, and Mane N Tail Conditioner do the trick.

I use them all on my hair after each wash. The Motions and Perm Repair give my hair slip. The WGHO gives it shine and holds in moisture; it also helps with a tender scalp, which I usually get with a lot of new growth. Mane N Tail gives elasticity and keeps breakage at bay. I will be working these products and others to the fullest extent now that I am transitioning!

Well seriously, stetching is 8 weeks for me. I use S-Curl to tame my hair down and keep it moisturized. When it gets closer to my relaxer, the drier my hair gets. S-Curl followed by a heavy oil (Nexxus Botanic Oil) is only thing that allows me to comb my hair. Mango butter is good too and my new love is Cantu Grow Strong.

Compared to some of the ladies here, mine isn't really a super-stretch at 13 weeks (16 weeks once!), but I use Nexxus Headress (creamy) or Biolage Hair Tonic leave-in (watery). Both are great detanglers.

i can't do a super stretch. the longest i've ever gone is 9 wks. however, i have not found anything that surpasses my pm's the conditioner.

My normal leave-in is PM's The Conditioner, but when I'm doing a super stretch (minimum of 16 weeks)...Design Essentials Therapeutics Leave-In Conditioner, hands down!!

so far as my stretching (its almost been a year- but ive been told before that because of my type 3 texture its easier to stretch- NOT true when youve got flat limp lifeless relaxed ends and your new growth is super curly...) i've found my best leave- in has been greg's juice by oyin..it makes me hair super manageable, nice-smelling and soft and when i pair it with their whipped pudding, it keeps my hair so soft and holds in plenty of moisture...plus the resulting texture of my new growth makes me want to cut off all my relaxed hair because the texture is so defined, soft, and springy!!!

hope that helps!

So Meia, do you actually go through your hair and apply these directly to your new growth? Where are these products sold that you mentioned? :D

Well, thanks for reminding me, I have two jars of the pink one and that used to really help the new growth to lay down nicely, I forgot.....The reason I stopped using it was because of the fishy smell it has.

Hi Supergirl,
You could get these products from the oyin website. I am 4a/4b and 12 weeks post relaxer. These products enable me comb my hair with very little to no breakage.

I like coconut oil and aloe vera gel. I normally do 6 mon stretches, but right now I'm pushing for 10 mon. I'm currently at 5.5 mons.

Okay, Brandy and Meia you made the Oyin products sound irresistible so I ordered them last night. I can't wait to try them out. :)
