Whisper "bleep boop" to yourself when you're sad.
Okay, I don't know what I'm doing wrong because my flatironed hair never comes out good. Here is what I do:

Clarify and dc
Apply a little leave in
Blowdry
Apply a small amount of Silk Drops (cone based shine serum)
Flat iron 1-1 1/2 inch sections on medium heat with my Fhi

I hardly EVER use direct heat, and when I do, it's always such a disappointment because my hair doesn't come out shiny at all. It bounces and moves, but not as much as I would like. I've taken all of the advice I've gotten and done it, but my hair still comes out stupid. Is there a certain way I'm supposed to hold the iron? Is there some special technique I don't know about? I really wanna flat iron my hair for New Year's, and I want my hair to be BANGIN! Please help me!

When I flatiron I airdry first and use chi silk infusion that always gives me a nice shine.

Turn the heat all the way up. Medium heat does nothing for my 4a/b texture. I use the same technique that Gin does.

Also Kerastase Ciment Thermique makes my hair silky straight; it is a restructuring heat-activated treatment also so you don't have to worry about heat damage.
