What's going on with my hair??

Okay, I'm exactly 9 weeks post relaxer (getting it 'done' tommorow) and there are some very strange things I'm feeling... I'm 4a/4b but there lots of little waves where the usual napps (yup- those) should be. Is this a temporary phenomena created by the hair vitamins I'm taking? It's very strange but interesting.:look: I know others have posted that their hair texture has changed since taking vitamins. I don't feel like that but it seems as if something is happening up there.

Or maybe I'm just going nutty.

Hi bhb,

My hair texture changed when I started taking MSM. I've heard from other ladies who are taking it that this has happened to them as well.

This happened to me, however my hair was brittle and very dry before taking supplements. When you body is given to right nutrients the texture may change as a result. Since your hair cells grow faster than virtually all other body cells, and because your hair is about last in line to receive what nutrients you do take in, any sign of a nutrient deficency the hair suffers. If you could imagine, eating very healthy, such as high amounts fruits, vegeatables, lean protein, complex carbs, water or simply taking supplements, your body will ultilize all of these nutrients and create a healthier body which is manifested in external features, hair, skin, and nails.

MSM, flaxseed oil, water intake and silica does make the texture more silker:)
I agree with this. This makes me wonder... Since the ingredients you mentioned Yokourt are all natural and essential for health, is our hair supposed to be on the silky side? :scratchch

I'm starting to think that it is. My hair is so different after joining this site.

My hair was alot drier and harder to the touch before i found LHCF and I started keeping it moisturized. I used to go for at least two if not more weeks without washing it. Now I CO wash twice a week, or if I went to a salon I'll wait for about a week, but no more to wash or rinse. My hair's true texture has shown through, very soft medium textured curly--not wavy, but not beady/knotty at all.

I sometimes take vits, but haven't for a while as I feel they make me gain unneccessary pounds. I am now just eating more veggies and fruits.

I started out thinking :poke: Is this real? Now I'm quite comfortable saying my hair texture has changed a lot.

I was just about to say this....And also when you start giving your hair the right amount of care, you will see and feel a difference...

Are there a supplement out there with MSM and silica combined? And do you ladies have problems breaking out when using MSM? Where can I find MSM, flaxseed oil, and silica online for cheap?

Sorry for all the questions...lol.

Thank-you serica, i find that a lot of hair sites fail to mention about healthy eating, which is just as important or even more then topical aids for hair care. I follow this regime, by juicing, eating more protein and taking extra supplements.

Things that make you go hmmmm. Since I've been using more vitamins (multivit., calcium/vit D, biotin, and fish body oil) and increasing my protein intake using shakes, I have noticed that my hair is growing in soooo soft. I can barely see the demarcation b/t relaxed hair and new growth, even when wet. I'm not sure if it's related to the change in my vit. routine and my increase in fruits and veggies (for weight loss purposes) or some other unknown reason. I don't even know if I like the change. Unfortunately, I've seen more of a change in texture than growth rate.
