Did these "natural relaxers" go the way of Rio and Copa? Years ago, they seemed to be all the rage, but now I never hear anything about them. Did anyone here use them? What were your results? Are these companies still in business?

I used the Naturalaxer for a year to texturize my hair. My hair wouldn't get staight enough and so I switched back to Optimum. I think it might work well for someone with either fine hair or 3A/B hair. But not on me.

I used the bodiphier back when I was natural and it barely loosened the curl on my 4a/b hair. The bodiphier company is still in business, I got a flyer from them a couple of weeks ago.

What is the chemical or straightening ingredient in these products? Did either of you experience any other undesireable effect, like breakage, dryness, hard hair, etc.?

There are no chemicals in Naturalaxer just natural ingredients. I had breakage after I started blow drying my hair weekly. Everything else was fine.

I wouldn't touch bodiphier with a barge pole. It makes your hair dry and brittle aqnd barely does a thing to the hair. It's pointless. You're better off using a mild lye relaxer or leaving it on for a very short period of time.
