thebelleofelle,
^^^ At the j-o-b and cannot view your images:nono:... Hang on I'm sure someone will respond. Just bump it again over the weekend. You know how busy this forum is....

Which picture are you trying to get back to the top puff pony or the straight red hair? I'm loving that haircolor!

I'm a little confused...What are you saying you want from your hair? It looks like it's up in a ponytail versus down...I'm sorry...maybe it's just me :look:

I'm confused too, are you asking how to retain length so that you will have longer hair?

Both hair pictures are very nice looks healthy (Love the RED)....Give more info please..

Happy Hair Growing!

How did you lose it (did your hair break off, did it thin out, were you natural or something, I'm still unclear)? To help you we need more info....

So what happened? Meaning how did the pony option disappear? were you natural or transitioning/texlaxed and now are something different or is it a length issue? Still looks like you have a nice length to get a high pony or are you looking for a high puff?

Dang we thinking the same, well I think all of us are probably thinking the same. OP like Ms-gg said - need more info please.

Sorry if I wasn't clear..I'm trying to figure out what it takes to get my puffy pony back..

I feel like I've been stuck at a little past neck length for two years too long..

And thanks for the compliments on my color..its my natural, sandy brownish color

What is your routine?

What do you use to shampoo
Condition your hair?
How often you use heat?
How often you relax if you relax?
What hairstyles do you wear?
What type of combs do you use?
What hair products do you use?

etc etc etc etc

Please answer the routine question. I don't think her cut is to blame anymore. I shaved all my hair off in Nov 2009 and I am heading for APL soon. Something in your routine needs tweaking....

Oh. Are you relaxed? Seems like a retention issue. Need reggie - moisturizers, proteins, DC info. Also if you wear your hair out a lot and it rubs on fabrics, that will cause breakage.

What is your routine?

What do you use to shampoo: ORS
Condition your hair? tresemme naturals, moisture
How often you use heat? trying for every 2 weeks
How often you relax if you relax? 2 twice a year
What hairstyles do you wear? I love my hair down but I've been trying the buns and pony
What type of combs do you use?
What hair products do you use? NTM triple moisture leave in, wonder oil, tried the cantu shea butter but I've read on here that it can stunt growth. satin cap every night (hardly ever stays though, bad sleeper) Fantasia heat protectant after every blowdry. umm I can't think of anything else...

sry for the last post I was mobile. I've been trying the whole trial and error think with my reggie and stuff but nothing has proven to be staple worthy.

etc etc etc etc[/Quote}

the current size of the puff is still a baby...&& I don't really like it. I miss the big high one, my hair wasn't just APL before but it was great for me..this semi short stuff doesn't suit me well.

The only two things that may be hindering you from what you have said so far is that you wear your hair down a lot and that you use heat a lot (I am assuming you were doing it once a week). If your hair is stuck at neck length, it is probably splitting and breaking off right where it is rubbing up against your clothes. You should try to wear it up for a while and see if you start to see a difference after 3 months (if all goes well you should gain anywhere from .5-1.5 inches) then you will know what the issue is.

Many people cannot wear their hair down everyday. Some people can. That is just my two cents...

My questions:
What is your hair type?
How often are you washing and deep conditioning?

My current recommendations:
If every two weeks, then I would suggest increasing the frequency to a minimum of once per week especially if you are a type 4. I would also look at using a different moisturizing conditioner for "deep conditioning." A deep conditioner usually recommends you leave on for 10-20 minutes plus.

Also, you don't have to flatiron every time you wash. Consider roller setting, braid outs, and other indirect to no heat styles. My other suggestion would be to use the heat protection before you blow dry and nothing before you flatiron (depending on how your hair "feels").
