What type of protective styles are good for summer?

I need to know what styles I could wear for the heat. Especially when I'm in school, I go to culinary school.

I <3 bantu knots. They're simple to do, they look chic and edgy, and they help my hair retain sooo much moisture. My fave summer styling is to cowash without rinsing and then step out of the shower and section off, rubbing a mixture of castor oil and cantu shea on each section and then bantu-ing. On the weekends I unleash my hair for some awesome voluminous curls.

I'm natural, fyi, but I style my mom's permed hair the same way. She pins hers up into funky updos when we let hers out.
