ok, ladies. this is the day /images/graemlins/grin.gif! i'm on my way to pick up my sister and visit sally's beauty supply. i am to ONLY buy the jilbere /images/graemlins/tongue.gif. i really need to know what i should use on my hair before pressing. mind you, my hair hates and falls with oils. i need something lite that will condition. please help. i have a superbowl party to attend.

Before I flat iron my hair with my Jilbere ceramic flat iron, I put some New Image Damage Free Thermal Active Conditioning Styler (Heat Protectant) on my hair. Valley Girl recommended this, and I think it works great. I just used it this morning (flat ironed my hair). Afterwards, I applied a small amound of Aura Humectant Pomade to my hair, and I wrapped my hair and tied it up with a satin/silk scarf. I've used this heat protectant three times, and so far so good. I'm glad Valley Girl recommended it. I purchased it from Sally Beauty Supply for ninety nine cents (eight ounce size bottle). I heard it was being discontinued. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Allandra-

Did you apply the New Image to wet or dry hair?

(I bought this too for $0.99, I got the last bottle at the store on Xmas eve!)

BlkMane,

I applied it to my hair while it was dripping wet (still in the shower). Then I applied it to my hair once it was dry (just before flat ironing). I wanted to make sure my hair was well protected. /images/graemlins/grin.gif Have you used yours yet?

Yes, I used it once. And I think my rollerset turned out a little less bouncy then usual...but I don't remember. I have to use it again.

I've never tried it for a roller set since I already use a leave-in conditioner for that. I 'think' ValleyGirl has used it for roller sets. I'll have to ask her.

I used the New Image also before straightening. I put it in my hair when it was wet and let it air dry in braids.

I also put a drop of WGO on each section just before running the iron over it. Gives it a great shine.

Hi ladies. I went to sally's with my sister today. i haven't been in a sally's in about 1 &1/2 years. i make it a mission to stay out of it. round the way beauty supplies have always worked for me. anyway, i picked up my 24mm jilbere with the heat settings for 39.99. they also had one for 29.99 w/o heat settings. i got confused /images/graemlins/ohwell.giffor a moment and realized the 40 dollar one is the one everyone is raving about /images/graemlins/drunk.gif. we both got the new image damage free conditioning styler and the aura humectant pomade (thanks allandra-i'll let you know how they worked for us because my sister and i have totally different hair types). they had tons of new image. i also got some wide tooth combs and loreal mega moisture which had a free shine power spray with it. i didn't have time to flat iron for the superbowl party, so i wore it curly and pinned up....my fav "scary spice" wild look...which i couldn't believe one time in atlanta this girl referred me to /images/graemlins/shocked.gif! guess it was the hair because i look nothing like her.
anyway, i spent enough money and i don't need another darned thing. i have been doing great with utilizing the products i have here at home, alternating them to ensure that they all get used. actually, i lied...i only need the drawstring ponytail piece, those plastic hair pins and the elucence moisturizing conditioner and i'm done! thanks for all your help. i will share my opinions as i use my stuff /images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Um Ebony I thought you said you were ONLY to going to get the ceramic iron? /images/graemlins/grin.gif No matter how hard we try we always end up getting just one or two little more things.

Londondiva, i was determined /images/graemlins/smile.gif!!! LOL! the flat iron was right there as soon as we walked in the door. i said to my sister, ok, i have to get the aura and the new image. after we accomplished that i said ok, let's go. she's like, "let's look around some more".... /images/graemlins/blush.gif. i got scared and broke out into a sweat immediately /images/graemlins/confused.gif! then i saw the wide-tooth combs /images/graemlins/shocked.gif, the mega moisture /images/graemlins/shocked.gif and the styrofoam head /images/graemlins/confused.gif-(for ebay)and forced myself to the cash register and waited for her at the door while she finished looking. they didn't have any drawstring ponytails though /images/graemlins/tongue.gif!

I hear you! When my weave is in, as much as I may want to buy something, I have no need for anything but vits, hair/scalp oil and sebastian wet! I am well stocked because weave wear is only 3-4 months a year. It totally helps keep me out of the beauty supply stores /images/graemlins/drunk.gif!
