What to do for weak, fragile hair that can't hold moisture?!

What kind of moisturizers are you using? You may find there is something in them that is coating your hair and preventing the moisture from getting through. I am speaking from experience because I am STILL trying to find something that will moisturize my hair properly. So far...NADA!

I picked up mine at Sally's. It's really good.

I think supergirl would say try a protein treat.

Also look into Pourosity Control!

:yep: Hair that won't hold moisture needs protein. I'm assuming your hair will get moisture, but then feel dry soon after like the next day or so. If your hair won't even get moisturized then perhaps you should clarify your hair.

Update....guys, I'm pretty sure in my excitement and over aggressive pursuit for healthy hair, I WAS ON PRODUCT OVER LOAD. I was pulling my hair back into a bun so felt it was okay to literally saturate my hair with thick moisturizers like Africa's Best Olive Oil. And as if that wasn't enough I was lumping on a heaping amount of oil to seal it because I had no idea how I should be using anything. Well, my hair didn't appreciate it one bit. It shed more than ever and I was having breakage...something I normally don't experience because I always kept my hair neat and trimmed. NOW, that I have gotten myself under control and thanks to Macherieamor's suggestions. I have gone back to less products = more benefits (at least for me as someone with fine/medium textured hair). I believe if you listen to the other ladies and clarify, shampoo, deep condition, probably do an ACV rinse, and then spray on a nice moisturizing leave-in you'll feel much better about your hair. I use a spray bottle of distilled water while spraying on my Elasta QP H2 leave on and then I tie my hair down with wrap strips and let it airdry. Its been happy and healthy ever since. Cut down on the shedding and the breakage is virtually non-existent but I still gots work to do. I'm on the right track...I can tell.
