Recently I tried Redken So Long Heat Treat and that worked really well when I blowdried my hair recently. I also used it a bit to flatiron my hair. My hair was really smooth and soft. I think it can be a bit sticky but the results were nice.

I use New Image Damage Free Thermal Active Conditioning Styler (Heat Protectant) to protect. I purchased it from Sally Beauty Supply for $.99. It's being discontinued, but they may have some left.

Soslychic,

Soft-Sheen makes a line of products called BREAK-Thru!!!
This line of products is geared to heat-styiling and preventing BREAKAGE! The Daily Moisturizer is a good product. It has an Anti-Breakage Ceramide Formula. I used this product when I used curling irons and flat irons. The results were impressive. My ends weren't dry and weak!
It's affordable and you can get it at the local BSS!!!

When blowdrying, I generally use TCB Heat Sense, which is a thermal activated blow dry lotion that really protects hair. When using a flat/curling iron, I usually just use a light oil like G Naturals or something comparable.
