I need some advice of what to do so I will explain what occurred. I washed my hair Saturday morning with creme of nature argan oil shampoo because I was out of of my shea moisture shampoo. I then applied an ors olive oil moisture packet and sat under the dryer for 15 minutes. I rinsed out and then I applied Tresemme heat tamer spray because i had planned to flat-iron my hair. I sat back under the dryer again to get some of the moisture out. I then flat-ironned my hair to wear it out for a special event. To sum it up, my hair has a weird overcast on it which could be that the ors may have lifted some of the black hair color rinse that I had. It feels to weird to even wrap it the regular way so I have been cross wrapping which has kinda ruined my wrap style. My hair doesn't feel soft but coated so maybe it is from the Tresseme leave in as I may have been heavy-handed with the application My hair hasn't felt like this, its almost feels sticky and had an ashy cast to it, but I ended up saturating it with an oil moisturizer and oil sheen to help it look darker and moisturized. Right now I am just wearing it pinned up but I don't know if I should wait a few days to give my hair a rest before washing it or just go ahead and wash it out immediately. I have been having some issues with hair shedding since my last relaxer in June and want to treat my hair gently so that's why i thought just waiting until this Friday to wash it out. I clarified week before last and had done a protein treatment so I don't believe its due to build up.

Hi @levette, this is just my opinion, but it sounds like you did a few things back to back that didn't work for your hair. Now girlfriend is rebelling!

Basically, you need a reset.

I would suggest rewashing your hair immediately, but I wouldn't shampoo. I would do an apple vinegar cider/water mixture and use a moisturizing conditioner that you know and trust. Deep condition that hair, rinse thoroughly, and spray a light leave in that you have used in the past and love. If you have color in your hair, try a conditioner designed for color treated hair. I enjoy Ion's conditioner for color treated hair.

As far as styling, try not to use heat this week. Maybe you can wear a style of your choice that doesn't involve heat. Happy hair journey!

I washed it today and used suave almond Shea conditioner and airdried my hair.., my hair feels soft again and not sticky

I get the same result when I use tresseme heat styling products. Obvious question: do you clarify ever?
