My sister doesnt have a computer so she has asked me to ask you all for her? (Im getting myhair braided this weekend. Thank goodness) She has been using Soft&Beautiful in Super for ages:eek: She wants to go away from that. I tried to convince her to go natural but she was like ,"Heck no!"

Any relaxer that has conditioning properties build into it or apart of relaxing process is good. I love the salon relaxer Affrim since it comes with steps to restore the hair using their reconstructor treatment. But if you want Beauty store products try to find something with contioners or just condition your hair on your own after you relax. My favorite Beauty Store relaxer back in the day was always Dark & Lovely but I heard from my hairdresser that Protectiv is also very good. :)

I've had to break away from the box relaxers. They were really damaging to my mane. I used Soft&Beautiful, Creme of Nature, and Dark N Lovely for years.

I'm now using Hawaian Silky Mild Conditioning Relaxer (pink label in a jar). My hair loves this stuff. I'm looking into investing into this line. :hula:

Conditioning relaxers seem to work best for me. I'm currently using Revlon Realistic Extra Conditioning in mild.

I'm so lovin Silk Elements at the moment. It is a No-Lye. Most ladies here prefer Lye relaxers. Of course, there is a favorite around here lately called Phyto.

Sugaplum, is the Hawaiian Silky Conditioning Relaxer a lye or no-lye formula? TIA!

Mizani and Affirm are the best in my opinion. You can usually find Mizani at most Beauty Supply stores. Affirm you either have to go to the salon, or order it online. At least in my city they stopped selling Affirm in the stores.

I love Motions Moisturizing Hair Relaxer. This is a lye relaxer and I used super. This relaxer gets your hair so soft and silky after the process. I was totally amazed. I have never had a relaxer to get my hair that soft after the process. This is definitely a plus for me.

I've used Revlon for over 8 years with no problems. My hairdresser wanted me to start using Affirm. Its not bad. About the same as Revlon, except my perms last longer with Revlon.

I use Soft & Beautiful No-Lye Regular. I'm not sure if it's the best, or not. I haven't noticed any damage, at all. I use a reconstructor after I relax my hair, also.

Who is Silk Elements made by?

An employee at Sally Beauty Supply mentioned that the Silk Elements product line is made exclusively for Sally's and is owned by them. I didn't know that! I guess that's why I've never seen it anywhere else. LOL!

Optimum Multimineral Lye Relaxer System in Mild (with accompanying products like the normalizer, base, neutralizing shampoo). Its the best relaxer I've tried thus far. Never done no-lye relaxers. This one leaves my hair feeling conditioned and silky-smooth. I have also had a Mizani relaxer (sensitive scalp-mild) and it came out well.
