Evertime i wear my hair wet (wash and go), it looks very dry even though i put jojoba oil on it and s-curl. Is there anything else that I could try?? All your responses are appreciated, thanx!
Aloe vera gel. This has given me a some shine but I only use it when wearing buns. You might try it (in addition to you s-curl and jojoba). Use the AVGel last.
Yes coconut should be great, also a serum should do the trick. I also used just a little bit of polish spray (Motions Salon Sheen or Pink Oil Glosser). I sprayed a little bit in my hands and then rubbed it over my hair. But don't use too much as it will look greasy.
I use Organic Root Simulator's Nature's Shine for my daughter's hair. This one lady thought my daughter's hair was wet because it was glistening. It's a mixture of oils with coconut as the first oil.

Aveda's Brilliance Universal Styling Cream, I love it and you don't have to use much. Nor is it greasy. It gives a healthy shine, but not that slick look.
When I had natural hair, I used castor oil to make it soft (I have the brittle pad type of nappy hair)- I used Paul MItchell foaming pomade for shine. It really worked and I loved it!!!!!
I'm transitioning so I use a Pomade to make my hair shiny - my current fav is Volumax Pomade which is very similar to the ingredients of Aura Humectant Pomade. I like the Volumax better though.
unfortunately natural hair (4a-b) does not shine unless you apply too much oil.(which causes the oil to just sit on top of the hair shaft which results in "greasy" hair)our natural curly hair has a sheen. pure shea butter and pure refined coconut oil mixture works well for napturals-you can also use it on your body!

I agree with this...at first I was looking for a high shine like I got with my relaxed hair, but anything that would make my hair "shine" also left it kinda greasy and I want to be able to put my hand on my head and it not look like an oil slick when I take it off...I also like for my FI to be able to touch my hair and not need to wipe his hand off.
