What Makes Linange Relaxers Special?

Many LHCF members rave about Linange relaxers.

If you use it, specifically what about it do you like? For example, is it more moisturizing, does it straighten more evenly, is it gentler on the scalp, does it contain ceramides/other strengthening agents, etc?

Finally, did you use the lye or no-lye version?

My touch-up in August will be my 4th time using Linange and I absolutely love it. I don't burn at all with this relaxer and I like that it doesn't relax me bone straight.

I use the lye version of this on clients and IMO it provides the comfort of no-lye relaxer (doesnt burn the scalp easily, hair retains some curl pattern) in a lye formulation.

If you want bone-laxed hair, I don't recommend it. But for those wanting UP to 85% straightening its a good option.

How does it leave the hair? (Is it moisturized, strong, thick, etc)

Also, does it change your natural hair color more than other relaxers? As we know, some relaxers are notorious for doing this.

I've use the lye version on my daughter's hair for the last 2 yrs and I find that it works well. It get the hair straight and keeps it healthy. I find it moisturizing when using the right product with it. She has little to no breakage with this relaxer than others. When its applied to the edges last it relaxes them just fine which has given her great edges.

Personally, what makes it special its not a made in China product.

I've been using lye relaxers for a while and came across Linange Shea Butter. I will never use a different relaxer...ever.

I like that it doesn't smell like chemicals
I like that it doesn't leave me bone straight = body
I like that my hair is never limp looking, even immediately after relaxing
I like that I can get my hair moisturized better than I could when I used no-lye relaxers

and like QueenNefi it seems that my hair is just in better condition in general vs. when I used no-lye relaxers

I love that it never burns me...it's crazy how gentle it is. It doesn't kill my curls, or cause any major breakage. No complaints at all! Loved the neutralizing conditioner as well!

Now see, I wasn't a fan of the neutralizing conditioner. Do you use anything else for neutralizing or just the conditioner? If so...no issues with your hair?

I did the first wash with Motions moisturizing neutralizing shampoo, and the next two with the Linange neutralizing conditioner. I definitely felt like my hair was neutralized, and so far so good. Neither one made my hair feel moisturized per se, but I guess I didn't expect them to. I DC'd overnight, and my hair felt ok the next day. I'll have to DC again to bring my moisture level back to normal. My hair doesn't feel dry...just not as moist as I like it.

I liked using the conditioner way better than doing all 3 shampoo's with the Motions.

I find it interesting that this product comes with a neutralizing conditioner, instead of a neutralizing shampoo.

Co-signing with what everyone has already said; no chemically offensive smell, it's thick and creamy, making it easy to apply and there is no burning whatsoever-- coming from someone who NEVER bases their scalp (I know, I deserve an *** whoopin') and who *sometimes* scratches leading up to a touch up. I've never had an issue, I'm a self relaxer and I sometimes take too long to apply it to my hair, but my hair has never come out looking overprocessed, nor have I experienced any severe breakage. However, as also stated, it doesn't leave your hair bone straight, which I have been accustomed to for years of having used no-lye. It's taken some getting used to (having a curlier texture than I'm akin to), and my technique may be apart of the issue as well.

Overall, it's a fabulous relaxer. My last touchup was a different lye relaxer (I wanted to use one that was known to straighten extremely well despite being lye) and with all the no-no's I typically do (scratching, no basing the scalp AND, for the first time, washing my hair less than 48 hours before.... :nono:) it was a wakeup call difference from Linange... my scalp thought it'd walked through the fiery gates of hell for 20 minutes.

I'd been using linange exclusively since last year up until my last touch up. To get it straighter I tried ORS lye super, it definitely got straighter but the shedding almost made me ball up in a fetal position :) At my next touch up, I'm going back to Linange for sure. I've since figured out that while it won't get me super straight, it will get straighter if I smooth it with the back of a comb (I wasn't doing this before).

Linange just seems to suit my hair better.

Best relaxer. Period. And the conditioning neutralizer doesn't feel like it strips my hair of moisture like the neutralizing shampoos do. In actuality I feel as though it adds moisture :). No breakage and easier application. I recommend it to people like they're paying me for it

This is the best relaxer on the market! I am always raving about it.

1. It does not have that chemical-y smell.
2. I can tell it has a higher lipid content.
3. It rinses out of my hair well and my hair does not have that limp feeling.
4. Honestly, it's the only relaxer that get's my hair straight. I know people are in this thread saying that it doesn't get the hair bone straight-- and it doesn't-- but if it can get MY hair straight, it deserves an award!

Just get it. It's worth it! Amazing product. The only relaxer I use and trust.

I agree with everyone here, I have used every relaxer on the market over the years, and this one is by far the best i have used. It doesn't burn, the smell is not like the rotten egg chemical smell like most relaxers, the neutralizing conditioner is like the cherry on the cake its moisturizes and detangles as well as neutralizes. This is my relaxer FOREVER.

Wow! I just got a relaxer touch-up (at a salon) two days ago and burned badly. I treated my scalp at home with Aloe Vera Juice and antibiotics and prevented scabbing. Even relaxing 2-3 times a year it just seems like I can't escape scalp tenderness or burning with the ones I've used in the past.

I think I will look into this relaxer moving forward.

Lymegreen I have a very sensitive scalp and I only burned one time ever with this relaxer because stupid me wanted to sweat before relaxing.

I really think you should give it a try too. You will really feel a difference, especially when you rinse it out. Good luck and best wishes.

Hello all, I have a question. I currently use Soft n Beautiful Texturizer No Lye on my daughters thick 4a hair. Is it possible to switch to Linange No Lye without causing serious breakage?
