My glycerin looks like an oil gel or something. I bought mine at the BSS. I found a dusty bottle on a dusty shelf. You might have to ask the clerk because I don't think many people use it or know what it's for.

well i'm about to do my hair and I wanted to make my moisturizer. I just read 1/2 glycerin and 1/2 aloe vera. Well I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and bought Glycerin Pure vegetablke oil. That's what the guy showed me anyways. SO if this is what I need i can get started.

Scorpion-do u use the glycein the same? Being that the glycerin is an oil do I still have wto seal with another oil?

Hello, What is the glycerin used for? I also found a dusty bottle in my grocer-while looking for castor oil. I have no idea what it is used for but my LHCF inner pj said buy it.

Its a great moisturizer.

Mine is a gel. I forgot what website I got it from though.

Ummmm, you have a sixth sense for hair products. You must be the chosen one!!!!:lachen:

I use glycerin for my moisturizer spray. It's a humectant, meaning it draws moisture(water) from the air and ever so gently deposits it on your tresses. Put some glycerin in a cup and leave it for a few minutes. When you get back to it, there will be water in the cup with your glycerin. It does my tresses wonders!

I've never used it on my hair straight it is way too sticky.......I just added it in my leave in conditioner that I use on my daughter and since it's a humectant I only use it during the warm months....I don't consider it an oil I consider it a moisturizer so you may need to still use the oil to seal....

Thanks. I went to Rite Aid and just bought some plain glycerin. I don't wanna use all my VS brand up because it was expensive and I am not sure how my moisturizer is gonna turn out. Thanks. I am excited. I am gonna go make it now and I will be back with an update

Whole Foods or Health Food Stores sell vegetable glycerin...

That is what you want to buy............www.nowfoods.com

There is Petroleum derived Glycerin.... I would not buy it from a pharmacy, wal mart,etc........:yep:

I used the glycerin and aloe mix and I loved it. My hair is extra soft. I wonder if it works this good on dry hair. I sealed with cocnut oil. I think this will be my new moisturizer as long as it keeps working.

oh it's too late I mixed them. I like it alot. After I use up my rite aid glycerin I wont buy it anymore. Thanks for the info.
