every time i try to style my hair (or the last several times ever since i started co-washing), i notice something.

i notice something.

the back of my hair comes out near perfect! all i need to do is comb it and it's straight. it doesn't poof, it doesn't stick out at odd angles and it just generally behaves like i want it to and i literally have to do NOTHING. i wash it and let it air dry and ta-daaa! it's just DONE.

of course, the front of my head has to be a completely different story. every single hair tries to break away from the pack and stand out. my roots get fluffy, my ends stick out and the front just generally looks a mess. why can't it just be nice and behave like the back?

any ideas of what might be happening or any suggestions? only thing i can think of is that whenever i put in product to my hair, i run my hands through the front first, so it may be build-up. also, when i used to flat iron my hair weekly, i never bothered with the back because it was awkward not being able to see back there. could the front really be that badly damaged?

any suggestions as to how i can tame the front too? i kind of managed to once, with some Elasta QP gel, but i dislike gel and it still didn't look as nice as the back. help?!

What kind of dryer are you using? It could be hotter in the back. My soft bonnet does this

yeah, i've noticed that some places definitely dry quicker than others. it's a very old dryer; time to upgrade!

i wonder if that'll solve it...
