Okay, this is the deal. I have relaxed hair that has been cut into a bob because of hair breakage, that darn beaumatician
(that probably would have made me feel a little better if I was able to do that, but it's not my way of handling things.) Anyway, after the cut, I knew I wanted my hair to grow back, which before I had it cut was about four inches past my shoulders...imagine my disgust when I saw the breakage and knowing I could do absolutely nothing about it, but start all over again. Well, the dilemma is that I really don't like to use oils on my hair except when I know it's time for a relaxer because my hair is naturally oily, but the problem is that my scalp is dry, itchy and flaky. What is up with that? Does anyone else here experience that problem or is it just me? I want to grow my hair back but needless to say I've gotten some great tips on hair maintenance on this site but the information can sometimes be overwhelming
(this one looked to me like it was pulling its hair out) sometimes in good ways but other times having me a bit confused especially with oils on the hair and scalp...I've always thought that placing oil on the scalp would clog your pores and stunt hair growth and that hair grows from within (my beaumatician says this) hence there is nothing you can put on the scalp itself to make your hair grow. Well, for me to get the growth I desired in the past, I washed my hair every week without placing any oils on my hair, kept it wrapped at night, trimmed only when needed, and relaxed every six to eight weeks. The one thing of many I found interesting on this board is the CO washes, which I was informed would cause the hair to get too soft and break as well. I haven't tried it but I am hearing so many good things about itand would like to, especially during the summer months. But the concern is that if oils can clog your pores and stunt hair growth, then what then about CO washes and buildup on the scalp? Sorry so long ladies, but I want my hair back, but this time I want to make sure it is strong and healthy and will be able to withstand chemical treatments when they too are needed.
