Henna, castor oil? I recently relaxed and my hair has grown but I never had a growth problem, but I'm not happy with my thickness, I use no heat in my hair either so its not that

For me, a protein treatment and a trim (or even a dusting).

My hair always feels thicker after a protein treatment and fresh ends makes hair look thicker.

Stretch out your touch ups. How often are you relaxing? Don't relax bone straight. Texlax or leave some texture in your hair when relaxing. Take a multivitamin and a b-complex; or a hair, skin, and nail vitamn. Wear protective styles like wigs, weaves, buns or braids. HTH.

I just did a 19 week stretch, it was going to be 20 weeks Monday but usually I did ten weeks

This has been my quintessential problem for yearssss being a relaxed head. I think I've finally come to notice that the solution for me and what I've seen for others is -stretching out your relaxers and getting a skilled stylist to apply the relaxer/texlax. I think this is the answer if you're already covering your bases by laying off heat, washing and deep conditioning, etc.

For years, I've scrutinized and analyzed the answer to this question and I think for me at least, it's really as simple as the above. A few over processed relaxers and overlapping can and will in the long run wear down your hair, I've seen it on my head and it took a little while to click to me b/c I know my hair felt healthy, it was always moisturized, but it was the frequent relaxing and going to different hairdressers to apply the relaxer, the overlapping and overprocessing that started to thin out my hair and it wasn't noticeable right away, only as my hair got longer did I start to see it as well did others, that's when I knew I had to start stretching my relaxers again and not only must I stretch I have to be very careful of who applies the relaxer and see to it my hair is not completely bone straight and beat. After a few years of relaxing every 8 - 10 wks, I decided to stretch to 16 wks, I was so proud of myself and went to the salon for a touch up. The hairdresser overprocessed my hair terribly and the following wash, my hair began to come out in clumps in the shower. That's when I loss a decent amount of thickness. The following 2 relaxers I stretched for 16 wks and went to a different hairdresser. She was better, but again my hair was processed for too long - or the relaxer might have been too strong b/c I came out bone straight again. Fast forward, I just got a touch up after a 7 month stretch and my new stylist was far less aggressive in her application of the relaxer. I'm not bone bone straight in a lot of areas. We'll see how this goes. I also used a protective style of weaving for 3 months to give my own hair a rest. I think it did me well.

Sorry for the saga, just wanted to share my experience. It took me awhile to realize it's not just the products that can thicken hair, chemical damage and really take a toll. I will texlax and protective style from here going forward. Even if you don't protective style, def start to stretch your relaxers and be mindful of the relaxer strength and application.

^^ they sell it in little packets at the supermarket. They have it in a sheet or powder form. I add a tablespoon to 600ml of conditioner. I also put 3 tablespoons of castor and olive oil in there.

And how long will you start to see a difference?

Going natural...

Don't want to go natural right about now, I have just recently relaxed and natural is not a option with the little to no new growth on my hair, I do not care for short hair on me

It takes about two months. My hair is natural and I saw results after a month. I cowash daily and I added the gelatin to all of my conditioners. I don't know if it will work for relaxed hair. In addition to thicker hair, my strands are super elastic and have way more shine.

I saw the unflavored gelatin powder in the supermarket, at first I saw flavored and I'm like wouldn't bugs be flying after you and hair sticky lol but I didn't get it yet because wanted to check in with you. So I just add two teaspoons or put the whole thing in a bottle of conditioner and shake vigorously? I heard it gives your hair lift so I was wondering, does it make your hair appear thicker or it gets thicker?
