i guess it depends of who you are going to and what you are anticipating depending on previous visits!

my stylist in london is the best, the salon is real comfy and organised, with great lightning and laminate flooring with offers of cups of tea and water. they are real polite as well. i look forward to the warm clean atmosphere, professional attitude and shampoos!

Re: Pebbles

lillydrake,

this is such an interesting thread! is it ok if i ask pebbles to move it to the hair board? you will get more replies that way.

i wanna know what others think about trips to the salon and what they enjoy about them!

Re: A Good Straightening

I love the shampooing the most. It is so relaxing to have someone massaging my scalp

... I also like the fact that I didn't have to do anything to my own hair to look good for that day.....

Someone who can shampoo perfectly! Especially when my scalp is itching! Whew!

I used to enjoy getting trims. Hearing the sound of scissors made me feel pretty good, I dunno.

That's not the case anymore.

That finished look I can't get at home. And laying back and not having to do a THING! I don't get that luxury often!

The BEST, BEST, BEST part is when my stylist's assistant which is a guy shampooooos my hair!

He's also a masseuse (sp?). Lawd, I have to try hard to keep my bottom lip from just hangin' while he's working on me!!!!! People always request him and will kindly wait for him to put his FANGAZ in your head!!!!!!!

I think my stylist gets a little offended when no one wants her to shampoo them.

Letting someone else do all the work.

ditto allandra....
its actually a much needed break for me from the kids.

Getting your head massaged by someone who really knows how to do a thorough shampoo.

Also, leaving the salon with your hair bouncin' and behavin'!!!

Not having to do anything---except watch them carefully with the scissors..

Knowing my rollerset and wrap will be smooth and bouncy

Watching the other long haired girls get their hair done

I wish I had something to add, but I haven't found a salon in Houston that will handle my natural hair with the care that I desire. They either want to relax it, or handle it when it is totally dry. So I hope that I can find one to go to for special occasions.

Definitely, definitely, definitely, the shampoo session, especially when it's time for a touchup and you haven't been able to scratch your head in a few days....oh yeah, oh yeah

two things. getting my hair washed( soooo relaxing) and when you hair is all done and ppl start to see you and complimet. i feel like a movie star or something.

The best part for me is when it is all over and you step out of the chair and let your hair swing! When you know you look good! That's what I'm talking about!

When you get exactly what you paid for and then some. When your trim is really a trim, your hair is bouncy and shiny and the smile on your face is too contagious for anyone else not to catch on.

I wish I knew. I don't trust anyone to put their hands in my hair yet, whether it's to remove a tangle or shampoo my hair
