what is the best braid challenge braid to have?

I have wet and wavy braids in and i think they are too small. Is medium sized synthetic braids better for this challenge or in general? i mean they are bigger....Also, how often does everyone wash their braids during the challenge? These braids are so soft that i lost one of 'em during a wash...ohh well... i just need some advice and everyone else's thoughts. I got these braids a week after a weak perm..i know bad, bad...but then i washed it and let it air dry and oiled it pretty well before the braids were put in. I have been oiling my scalp with Sulfur8 and African Royale braid spray. I hasnt been a full month since i got the braids but my new growth feels good.

Take-out process tips are also welcomed.
