3a... as always there is a possibilty of some other texture (2c and 3b) but looks as if 3a is your main texture. It's purtyful :yep:

It looks like a braidout in the first 3 pics. That's cool.

thanks for all the input. yes, i'm natural and the dry pics are unmanipulated. it was a little confusing because apparently i have all kinds of textures in my crazy hair.

out of curiousity, does anyone have any idea why there's such a difference in texture in the very front of my hair vs. the crown/back? is this common? i do flat iron and brush/comb there the most so, i'm wondering if all the manipulation made my texture like that or if it's just my natural pattern.

It may be manipulation/heat damage, but it's also completely normal to have different textures in your head.

Even I do... I have some pen sized coils in my nape, but coffee stirrer sized coils everywhere else. Hair is just funny like that, lol.

yeah, i'm thinking it may be heat damage. the very front has very little texture.. but, that's only about 1/8 of my head. your curls are gorgeous. maybe if i lay off of the flat iron for a while my natural texture will come back.

3a and I think you may just have different textures in your hair unless you can remember back to a time when you had more natural curl in the front...most black people i know have a few different textures in their hair...my daughter is like this, her hair is straight in the back 3bish, but the curliest in the front 4aish...you and your hair are both pretty, btw! (no homo, lol!)

mostly 3a but i see your ends are curly so 3a/3b

can your roots be 3a and the ends 3b is that possible?

your hair is beautiful regardless:grin:

You know I've wondered the same thing :perplexed, My hair in the front and sides is like a textured 2c/3a (but I've also smoothed those parts down the most), with a heavy product like gel or cantu, it gets completely straight.

Even when I was transitioning and BC the back portion, I couldn't even discern a curl pattern in the front (although it had to have been like 3 inches or so):ohwell:.

ITA with Seximami's post. Yes roots can be looser with curlier ends i have the similar wavy braidout pattern and coily ends! BTW you have lovely hair!

Thank you!

Yeah, the hair can recover a bit of texture over time, especially when you make sure to get enough protein into it :yep:

My hair is completely straight in the back, and type 3 with a patch of 4 in the crown..its crazy.

I love your hair.

You look 3A-B ish to me.

I'm more 3C-4A... your curls are much too loose to be 3C.

yeah, i was looking at your sig trying to figure out what texture you were because your hair texture reminds me of my own, except mine is a tad looser. i agree, though.. i think i am 3a for the most part with a little bit of 3b mixed in.

thanks ladies for all of the compliments and helping me figure out my texture
