I'm sick of gel! Anyone know a good cream for the hair that may provide a good hold. I know there has to be one out there.

I use Fantasia IC (clear one). I bun everyday and have for the last 16 months. I guess I'm looking for a cream that I can use that won't make my hair hard and make it have that wet look to it.

ORS Lock and Twist Gel. It is phenomonal. No flaking, stiffness. It has coconut milk as one of the first three ingredients.

Momo are you relaxed or natural? Giovanni Direct Leave In is not heavy nor creamy. It's thin and watery. I don't think that's gonna work either.

I like Ojon Conditioning Finishing Paste and Healthy sexy hair pumpkin suffle styling creme to lay down my edges.

I use a combination of Elasta QP Mango Butter and Fantasia IC gel (the blue one for color treated hair) to make my edges lay down. I put the butter on first and then the gel over that. That way, I get the wet look without the crunchiness.

You can find it at roundbrushhair.com

I used to swear by Elasta QP Mango Butter...but no more. It's pretty heavy and creamy, and provides a great hold.

excellent product!!! :yep:

Jane Carter nourish and shine

I like Jane carter nourish and shine also - but for my ends, not to slick my hair back (just personal preference). I prefer miss jessies buttercreme to hold my hair back. NEVER hard, although i dont mind that (cantu shea butter makes my hair hard and i still like it). the only thing is that some pple think miss jessies buttercreme smells TOO MINTY. I dont mind it, but if you do, try the baby buttercreme, i've never tried that one but its supposed to be very similar.
i've also used "curls whipped creme" by Curls. Its ok, but the hold is not as good as the buttercreme. It smells like butterscotch or cocoabutter.

Miss Jessie's baby buttercreme. It has a light sweet smell and it lays down naps w/o drying out my hair.

Thank you ladies! I got so many to choose from now.

Glamazon, I'm relaxed right now. I want to be able to air dry my hair and use a heavy cream to lay it down. Feel me?

Elasta QP Glaze. It's not a cream though. I don't know what you would call it but it's the consistency of Let's Jam.

Yeah... When I was relaxed I used the EQP Glaze or the Mango Butter. When I was transitioning I used Lekair Cholesterol Conditioning Cream.

YES YES YES! I co-sign this product.

It moisturizes my hair and adds shine like it's oil! It is heavy, so I suggest using it when wearing your hair up.

I also used to use Elasta QP. But the hold on this product is much better. It also adds shine/moisture (which EQP did not do for me).

Wow!!! Alot of rave reviews here!! I'm gonna save this thread to try some of these mentioned here!! No telling if my Fantasia IC gel will give up on me in the future, but at least I'd have something to use as a back up! Thanks to the OP for starting this thread and thanks to everyone who offered up their faves! :)
