It's a reference to silicones in hair products.

ETA: There are other ingredients that end in -cone that are included. I just don't know the names.

Hi!

You find cones in your hair conditoners, leave in, moisturizers. The argument is that if you use too much of these, cones from a a film around your hair which prevents your hair from absorbing moisture. They work like a mineral oil or petroleum. Check out these links, they may be useful to you:

Didn't there used to be a cheat sheet on the lingo. I haven't seen it in a while. Do you know where it would be?
