Is grow some nuts and just do it!! I think I will be getting a haircut in the near future!! It is going against all that is right and good, but I think it is going to happen!! I have this one side that is just beautiful and thick nd longer than the other side!! Ad then we have this side that is drab, I think it was damaged (had some breakage and it looks like a chipmunk has been eating away at it while I have been sleeping)!! I am currently on the no trim chalenge but I think I will be doing more than just trimming to fix this situation but after that then I will be on my way to long healthy hair!!! But I will let the hair stylist decide how much she needs to take off for it to be even!!

But on a good note!!! My 3rd Phyto turned out great and I love this relaxer!!!1 I can tell a difference and that is all I have to say!! I am staying on this bandwagon and I don't care what nobody has to say about my beloved PHYTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So maybe with this cut then the hair that is not Phyto relaxed will be cut off!!! And My boyfriend can go back to saying you have Oprah hair!!

I am sorry you have to cut your hair. I know the 2-steps-forward-2-steps-back feeling all too well . . . I wonder what the cause of your breakage is? Sleep pattern? Wrapping technique? Is this the side you apply the relaxer to first? I guess figuring out the cause will help to prevent reoccurrence.

BTW: your hair doesn't look that bad to me.

Good luck and be sure to post pics (nosy). I am sure you'll look great either way.

It had broke off and I was just trying to let it grow back but it is very noticale now so I will have to make it not so noticeable!!! I will keep you posted!!

Sweet, I'm the queen of BC if I find that my hair is damaged. I think that they are liberating. However, I would only do it if I was certain that I could live with a short cut. The last cut I got left me wanting to kick my butt. I also was close to getting a BC last week, just stressed out over temple shedding.

Lkg and a few others encouraged me to not cut. So, if you are certain...you have my full support :) But if you are doubtful...get a good trim and think about it .

Sweet I am with Webby I say go for a good trim first b/c you are questioning yourself which means you really really don't want to do a b/c

I hope she decides what is best as well...although I did get stuck on the growing some nuts part....lol....

Glad the phyto touch up worked out well....you know I love it too!

I swear I wanna do a corrective with that bad boy, but I'm scurred...:ohwell:

I knew what she meant...lol...it was just funny to hear it coming from her...

Sweet is trying to man up enough to put them scissors to the hair...girl..you know you really don't want to...see if you can try other options first before you go there....like dusting, like Dolapo suggested.

Solution!!!! I went to a white stylist very upscale salon!! And she washed my hair the day after my perm it needed it any way since I put a rinse on it and it was all ove r my scalp!!! She then blew it dry with the round brush!!!! Then flat ironed it to get it super straight!!! Then she cut it only about an inch off all over and redefined my layers!!! I like it!! I asked her often should I wash my hair she said 2x a week!!! NOw I have healthy hair!!!! She said the side that I thought was thinner was actually longer than the other side which made it look thinner!!!

Awww MAN! Sweetpea, i guess i'm too late to come in to this post and persuade you to save your hair and not cut it at all!!! oh well....i tried... :ohwell:

Girl shoulder-length hair is real tricky...cause it never looks perfect or perfectly even. Just get over it and continue to let it grow, then once you reach like APL...then you will see a good line to trim your hair. And just because your ends ain't SUPERTHICK like your roots, that doesn't mean to cut them off. If you look at all of the ladies with brastrap...their ends is not as thick as their roots.

Just a little bit of inspiration for you....I been reminding myself of this so that I won't have the desire to trim/even up my hair until i reach APL.

okay i'm exiting the thread now... Carry on...

I'm glad you didn't cut more Sweetpeast. . . My hair looks like that too and it is approaching shoulder length (it will be there this year). I wear it down everyday so it is tempting to want to cut it so that both sides are perfectly even, but looking at other journals, I am hanging in there. I did do a 1/2" trim when I relaxed (with my beloved phyto) and may be trimming 1/4" to 1/2" every 12 weeks b/c I do want some evenness, but no BC or 1" cuts or anything until it's a lot longer. I know if I start chopping for evenness and short-term styling I'll get discouraged with not reaching my goal. So, get back on that no trim challenge girl! That's all the cutting for you until we reach our goal for the year ;)

Thank you Mizani and Beloved!! I don't want any more cuts (but I think I may have to keep up the dusting)!! What are you doing to prevent trimming??
