Just about any type of oil(except mineral) adds moisture and shine. But some feel it is good for dandruff as well........

it makes my scalp tingle, im guessing from the peppermint oil in it. i wouldnt know what it does to my hair i only used a sample that i received

It's more of an antiseptic property to it, so it's real good at cleansing the scalp (not harshly though). You can even use it to treat cuts and scraps. I use the Nature's Gate Tea Tree Oil Conditioner for CW's and it makes my scalp tingle and stop any flakes in progress in their tracks.
