Just curious on the importance or non importance of adding oils to you dc.

Adding oils to your DC help to lubricate the hair strands AND make them more pliable, so that they are less prone to breakage due to dryness. Because of the curl pattern in african american hair, our natural scalp oils are not able to "flow" down the full shaft of our hair. This is why it is so vital that we incorporate "good" oils into our regimen. Hope that helps! ;)

That was helpful. I think I will include this in regimen. My hair is very dry and that is why I have so much breakage.

I actually like applying oils to my hair on top of a deep conditioner. I've been doing that for the past few weeks when I deep condition with Elucence Moisture Repair Treatment. After coating my hair with that, I apply a layer of sweet almond oil. I like it.

I do this as well. I feel like mixing the oils will accidently keep the moisture out since oil seals. So I put on the DC (Humectress) and then coat my hair with coconut oil or jojoba oil to keep the DC in. I don't use heat so I need my DC to stay coated on my hair for a long time.
