I want to do one, but not sure what to use, how long to leave it in, and do you still do a deep condition? Thanks!

I was using oils but it was tangling my hair and making it shed more (I may still try jojoba oil since it's closer to our natural sebum before I give up on oils as a preshampoo treatment). Right now I slap on tons of conditioner and comb through my hair then I shampoo it. And yes I still deep condition afterwards /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a hot oil treatment before shampooing. I leave it in for 3 minutes to 5 hours [depends on how dry my hair feels or how I feel...]. I also use conditioner after every wash. Once a week I do a deep conditioner treatment.

Ive been using Miss Key Aguacate with oil on top (black seed, olive, avocado, etc.) with great results. My shampoos and condits are even better experiences after doing this.

I use a cheap conditioner like V05 Strawberries/Cream and mix it with a small amount of honey (natural humectant). I also deep condition once a week even when I do prepoo treats because IMO the prepoo treat. helps to detangle and moisturize your hair to prepare it for the shampoo. It's kind of like a conditioner wash. For me since I am transitioning it helps smooth out my new growth so I do not have to manipulate my hair as much when pooing because I gain alot of slip from the prepoo treat.

Honey, EVOO, Coconut Milk and a bit of whatever conditioner I'm trying to get rid of...

I use any old conditioner with a blend of my oils. This week, I finally added honey and coconut milk to the mix, and it was wonderful. I sit under my heat cap for about 20 minutes, and I still do a deep conditioner if I want to. It just depends on where in my regimen I'm at, but doing a pre-poo will not necessarily preclude me from deep conditioning.

LegallySpeaking, I do it just for added moisture and softer hair.

I use a moisturizing conditioner with Honey and Olive oil. The last two times I used Aussie Moist conditioner. My hair felt SO soft and detangled. I've decided to start doing them again. Oh and the conditioner is great by itself anyway.

I use Suave Milk and Honey Conditioner w/ EVOO mixed in the bottle along with some B&B Oil It UP. Sometimes I'll add in whatever cheap-o conditioner samples I have at the time.

I cover w/ a cap and leave it on anywhere from 15minutes to 3 hours depending on what I have to do. I still deep condition afterwards.

Burt's Bees Avocado Butter Treatment mixed with warmed EVOO. I leave it on for 15-30 minutes with a plastic cap.

I use vitamin e oil on my scalp and either LeKair Cholesterol, Biolage, Aphogee Reconstructor, or Affirm 5-n-1. I let it marinate for 30 mins. to an hour. Either way = SUPER SOFT HAIR :) I always use more conditioner after washing, but I use heat with it no more than once a week ;)

Bump for Shatani!!!!!! Also, is pre poo done on wet or dry hair?

I do mine on dry hair but I guess some people may do it on wet hair. It's probably a preference thing.

I just started doing pre poo treatments and I think my hair likes them better then plain old contioner washers. I have less shedding when i do a pre poo treatment. I'm still experimenting with what to use. My purpose is to make my newgrowth soft as possible.
