Learn and determining.

Most important. I want to figure out how to get the thin spot on my edges to fill in and also why I'm 5 months post and there is no new growth in some areas, like the top crown. I mean 5 months, even at a slow growth rate should be at least half an inch. And even if it is a different texture, I know what relaxed hair feels like

My hair density is already medium to thin....however, the middle back of my hair is thin, thin and recovering from breakage. I would love to know how to keep this area healthy by 1.1.10!!!

I really need to learn how to flat iron well. I want to do it now, but the no heat is great for me at the moment. Still...I already know I want to wear some down styles that have some kind of movement. March (mid month) is my one-year anniversary, and I want to have a nice one-year update. I think I need a better flat iron than the one I currently have.

Also...roller setting...can I even do that well as a natural?!? I don't know yet. That might help some of my desire to have a straighter style.

Lastly...I may be making my ends stress out with twisting my hair every night. Not sure yet...I know I need to twist or braid to keep the hair stretched as much as possible and avoid SSKs, but I'm not sure if my ends appreciate all the touching.

Hmmmm...good thread. Gives me lots to think about...

I need to know that most of my strands are at WL by 12/31.

In 2010, I want to do blunt or U-shaped cut at WL, with a thick hemline, so I won't trim until March or June.

I need a regi and staple products.

I need to know when I do a length check/flat iron in Dec that I retained.

I need to know that I will make to apl in by march.

1 How to keep my fine strands from getting split ends AND

2 How to do a good braidout on my fine strands

:spinning:

EVERYTHING.

I'm 16, and until recently, I've been so used to somebody else handling my hair. Now, that I'm transitioning, I'm going into this myself, somewhat clueless, so I checked off every option on that poll. Good thing I have helpful sites like this to guide my way.

I'm with you guys on the no new hair products thing, I think I've found mine. My hair is retaining length and seems to be growing in thicker. BUT...I really need to learn how to roller set and flat iron better. But if I really master rollesetting, I can't see myself flat ironing as much.

I really need to learn how to cornrow(I practiced on my daughters hair this weekend), I def need to learn how to rollerset, twist outs, braidouts and bantu knots. I want to have other protective styling options instead of wigs and phony buns so I can get to APL. Also I want to thickening up edges and strands

I need to know how to do braid outs, twist outs, bantu knots and how to properly flat iron. I do not have the chase method down and I've always been that girl who could not curl or flat iron my own hair.

I'd like to learn to cornrow my own hair...both underhand and overhand styles. I can braid and plait, but I do large ones, but I'd like to try it in a bit smaller braid every so often. Overhand cornrowing is something I haven't tried yet, but it looks cool.

I need to learn how to flat twist and cornrow my hair at night.

I need to learn a better way to maintain my hair at night

I need to learn a better way to maintain my hair at night

I would like to Suggest the Prettywrap. It is a lifesaver and it does everything it promises to do.

It Stays on all night and it keeps moisture in your hair and helps you maintain your style.:yep:

IMO: It is far more Superior than the "fake" Satin Bonnets or even a Silk Scarve (which I always "swore by") The Prettywrap Exceeds them all.

It's a Great Patented Product AND IT REALLY, REALLY WORKS!!!!!

Styling--Cornrows, flat twists, twists I can actually wear in public
Flat iron--I rarely do this but when I do I want it to be great
Back of my hair--Is driving me crazy :spinning:. I know it's because I let it break off something terrible in the past and it is trying to get back at me :giggle:. I just need to figure it out. I need my new growth coming in healthy because of course I want healthy natural hair. The back is trying to jack that up!

Nice Thread....:yep:

I need to get my rollersets down to 30 min (for setting that is, of course, drying it's a diff story :lachen:).

I picked "moisture/protein balance", "breakage", and I forgot to pick "braiding" as a skill.
I have the braiding concept it just needs to be perfected to wearable braids. I learned to braid at a young age but I learned how to do underhand braids, basically I braided the hair under, those aren't perfect either but I at least know the reason my braids never looked like others...I was braiding under. :P Go figure. But those are my picks.

I feela challenge coming on.....new years resolution maybe??....hmmm

Learn new styles to stretch longer maybe ...Im quite shocked I thought I was 12 weeks post to find out I wrote it in my planner and im 16 weeks post.

Master Moisture/Breakage- I'm transitioning and keeping my hair flat ironed at a salon. My hair is silky the first couple of days, then starts to feel kinda brittle/dry. I need to know what to put on my hair between salon visits to infuse moisture in my hair to keep it from drying out and breaking. Serums? Water based moisturizers? Butters/pomades? Oil? I am tired of seeing these little broken hairs some of them with tiny splits on the end. I'm beginning to chalk it up to my relaxed hair is just jacked up and may keep breaking throughout my transition.

I don't like the way the way the rest of my hair feels sometimes but at least its not breaking. Ive seen only a few longer breakage strands that look like they could possibly be from the demarcation line. Just tons of 1 inch broken hairs.

How to Pin Curl or Roll all of my hair at night- Every time Ive tried a pin curl/roll my entire head its a tangled, bushy disaster. Right now I roll the crown and wrap the back/sides. But sometimes the back/sides get too flat. I'd like to figure something out to keep body/bump all over.
