you could try putting conditioner on the already relaxed hair.

Someone posted on here a couple of weeks ago that they put neutralizing shampoo on the relaxed ends.

Sometimes I use the Creme of Nature protectant but I find that using protectant sometimes tangle the hair to much making application harder than with out the protectant.

Protectiv Breakfree can be used for this purpose. I bought it as a leave in but didn't really like it so now I use it as a protectant.

I mix Nexxus Headdress and plain ole grease (Blue Dutchess) and put it on the previously relaxed hair. Not too close to the new growth, though. It really helps decrease the dryness you get after a relaxer.
