the thing that you use with the blowdryer instead of sitting under a hooded dryer. and you put it over your head. is that a heating cap?

yeah i didn't know about it before. and i was going to buy a hooded dryer.

That's what I use...a bonnet cap. Dries my hair without getting too hot, although it depends on the settings of your blowdryer.
