What Causes Braids to Fuse Together?

Last year I had box braids(with human hair) in my hair for about 6 weeks. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that by the second week that I had them in, they started to look ragged/fuzzy. Also when I washed them, after they air dried some of the sections were fused together. I never had this happen before when getting box braids. I'm sure these braids contributed to my hair damage.

There's a few things that can cause the fair to "fuse"

1. Human hair is not "human hair" if it wasn't washed prior to you getting your hair braided it could mean alot of things (braid hair has been treated with lots of chemicals)

2. Build up from product use can have a fuse effect too. braid sprays, gels while your hair is being braided. grease

3. bad parts when your new growth comes in

Braids like any style can work for or against you. I'm in braids right now for two more weeks. hhg
